we love short things, just like our eic tina ♡ short pieces, like short people, have the most personality and humour. we want pieces that have personality—unapologetically weird and quirky.

simultaneous submissions are a human right. be sure to let us know if they’re taken. we do take previously published work—note that in your submission! once accepted, we ask for first serial and archival right, which will be reverted to contributors upon publication. if you wish to republish a piece, be sure to credit us.

please use content and trigger warnings liberally, and DO NOT send us sexually explicit works. we will not consider works that do not follow this.

we appreciate submissions in garamond or times new roman, at 11/12 point font with 1.5 spacing. comic sans not allowed. if possible, please submit your pieces in one file, preferably in PDF form (for writing) to theplumbagos@gmail.com.

we open for submissions twice per year, from Apr 15 to Jun 15 and Oct 15 to Dec 15. although we'd love to read your work, please refrain from submitting more than once per submission window.

Audio Art: up to two pieces under 5 minutes

Flash: up to two pieces under 1000 words

Micro: up to three pieces under 250 words

Performance Art: up to one piece under 5 minutes

Poetry: up to three poems under 25 lines

Visual Art: up to three pieces

we’re also opening submissions to our weekly features! each week between issues, we’ll feature some writing and/or art we love!! there are no limits on word count or type, but please only submit one piece at a time.
