about me
I am an Associate Professor at the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science (SSCDS) of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Before joining UIUC, I served as an Associate Professor at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
I earned my PhD from Cornell University in 2014, where I was advised by Kavita Bala. I was also honored to receive the NSF CAREER Award in 2023.
Research focus: My research sits at the intersection of computer graphics, computer vision, and scientific computing, with a particular emphasis on physics-based light transport simulation, differentiable & inverse rendering, and Monte Carlo methods for partial differential equations.
More broadly, I am interested in developing mathematically grounded algorithms for modeling complex physical phenomena and for enabling the analysis, reconstruction, and design of geometry, materials, and illumination from diverse sensor data and physical measurements.
