They are also more reliable than single-robot\nsystems as robustness is increased through redundancy. Many\napplications such as rescue, reconnaissance, and surveillance and\ncommunication relaying require the MRS to be able to self-organize\nthe team members in a decentralized way. Group\nformation is one of the benchmark problems in MRS to study\nself-organization in these systems.
