Once the update becomes available, try restarting your device and see if updating to the latest version helps.In the meantime, could you try disabling 'Automatically play GIFs when possible' in User Settings - Text & Images? If you're not able to get to these settings on your iOS device, can you try logging in through the desktop/web app and disable the option from there?
