Nox Diesel, purveyor of my favorite sky box in SL, has some really well made items up on XStreet. Along with the beloved skybox, which by the way, disappeared off the radar for a while, are some street lamps, a full perm mod style chair and these cool $1L ants. Shrink them, blow them up, find a gigantic magnifying glass and burn them to a crisp. Whatever you do, get some. They’re super creepy and super cheap, perfect yard ornaments for Halloween. xo, Abra

Iki Ikarus of Dutch Touch just released the fabulous Cleo skins today. They come in 3 tones, each with freckle and non-freckle options. As you can see, I most certainly prefer the freckle versions. Imho, they’re the best and most realistic freckles in sl. The makeups range from natural to super intense. There are four different mini-collections available in fatpacks: natural makeup, Pip, Punk and Pip *specials*.
I pulled out my favorite booN hairs as well as the new Shag and fri.day releases, which are available today. Have a good weekend everyone. xo, Abra

I just wanted to express how utterly floored I am at the beauty of Tuli‘s Hope Gothic Group gift. It’s luminous and so flatteringly beautiful. Fri. released 4 new hair styles today. This is one of them. I’ll post some more photos later. xo, Abra

My friend Renn Luik of Garage R.H. has made a vintage diner setting named The Mother Road. An ode to Route 66 and a kick back in old Americana, TMR is my favorite new place to take photos. I especially love the vintage inspired signage that you just don’t see enough of these days. Go take a look, grab a coffee, light a smoke and play some pinball. There are some souvenir shirts for sale in the diner and a cool bike shop down the street, which is in the works. xo, Abra

Two rockin’, brand new places to shop. Today the Black Market opens their pirate themed extravaganza. Exclusive items are there and more are to come, with new items every few weeks. Yesterday Hodgepodge opened, and if you go there you’ll find some great opening gifts set out around the sim.

[ HUG ] is one of those great shops a person finds on random. I came across it while randomly sim hopping in July, then promptly went on vacation before I could tell you about it. The concept of the store is great. A big, floating cardboard box is the main floor, with two drobak* houses floating above as the second story. Right now, there are a limited amount of items for sale, but all are well made and super charming. The Bubble Laundry is my favorite new alternative to a kiddie pool, it comes with three poses, a color change innertube and a flurry of big, shiny bubbles which can be turned on/off when you click the water. It is sculpted perfection. The Nostalgic Set consists of 4 chairs, 1 table, 6 trays of varying sizes, 2 glasses of water and the cutest apple bowl. All items are copy and the whole set is only $160L. (Yeah, I know.) The Hot Chocolate comes by itself, and in three different versions. I especially like the one that releases steam smiley faces. The Pastel Candles are an in store gift, just click the black sign which offers you many things. You can also get a good windlight setting, too. The [ HUG ] box is just the candle’s packaging, but I collect cute boxes so it’s a keeper. On the main floor there is a preview book of skins to come, and they look gorgeous. I’m really looking forward to their release, although I’m not sure when that will be. Hopefully soon! As of now, they are still being worked on so we must be patient. The long awaited Eloh Starlight skins are out and I’m so stoked about them! I’m sure that anyone who reads this blog is familiar with Eloh and her Mother Teresa-like ways.* I myself have been eagerly following Eloh’s creation process on flickr, these many months, and have been getting more and more excited as I saw these skins develop. As you can see from Eloh’s documentation, a lot of thoughtful care has been put into each aspect of the creation process and it really shows. For me, this release has been nothing but the climax of the journey and I’m so in awe of how beautiful the collection is. I love their creamy, glowing texture, dimpled mouths and soft features. They come in 5 skin tones: Phaola, Polyxo, Eudora, Ambrosia, Koronis and each skin has two nose and eye options. The three mid-tones also have options for freckles and brow color. Eloh really outdid herself this time!
Now what comes next, and what I am so curious about, is how people will continue the creation process with Eloh’s so generously given Starlight resource files. I’m dreaming of creative makeups, cheeky colors and feature modifications. ;D

*For those of you who may be new, or who live under a rock (we all do sometimes), Eloh is best known for giving away her amazing skins for free. She gives them as both ready-to-wear inventory items as well as out-of-world files which one can modify to their own liking. (Just remember to credit!) With this generosity, Eloh has been a pioneer in teaching people how skins are made and encouraging people to learn how to make- and even sell- their own. I’m sure all of us have an Eloh skin- or Eloh mod- in our inventory, and many of us have learned from her resource files. She’s completely changed SL for the better, in that way. Thank you Eloh!
