Hi I’m back from my mini-trip and feeling good. Here’s a little tipple of an outfit that I wore to LaGyo‘s Circus Collection launch party tonight (plus and minus a few things, due to deprimming). It’s a funky little outfit I call my own. Almost not circus-y, unless a punk ass runaway bride could make the show. About the collection: I’m deeply in love with Gyorgyna’s new collection. It’ not freakish or bright like a carnival, but deeply rich and glamourous and detailed like, say, a Cirque du Soleil performance. Dripping jeweled necklaces, embellished bangles, oversized earrings, lots of metal and precious stones and eye decorations! I am a very happy woman!
My skin is LAQ‘s new release, Claudia, a face that I just covet, though it’s release hasn’t gotten as much coverage as April. If April is the softly glamourous, ethereally delicate one, then Claudia is her refined, lushly exotic first cousin. Glowy-soft and so pretty in the style that could only be LAQ, Claudia is radiant with plush lips, dark brows and lightly tanned skin. I think her features would serve well in a fairer shade as well, with lighter brows…but this may just be a preference of mine since I am usually more ‘milky.’ The dark tone only makes me want to indulge in this face more- all summer long.
This kickin’ hairdo is by Undo of Shade Throne, and is one of 4 hair styles she is releasing today. All 4 styles come in 4 staple colors: dark platinum blond, blood red, chestnut brown and inky black. Just like Undo’s whole line, her new hairs exude glamour and attitude, two essentials of fashion. The concept behind the styles is ‘wet hair,’ as if you got out of the shower, pool or ocean- this can easily be translated into a good night’s bed-head or sexy tousled locks. Variation on a Theme: summer tank + shorts + sandals

Hi all, I’ve been meaning to do a post like this: easy-breezy, relaxed, pretty summer dressing. When I think of this idea, I think of a comfy tank, shorts and some flat sandals. My default summer outfit! It’s easy to dress this style up or down, and it can go girl-next-door or bizarro or very posh lady. Shorts + tanks + sandals for all! Here are some of my favorite tanks, shorts and sandals to get you started!
I could have really gone off on some tangents here, but I tried (as much as my little rebel heart could) to stay on track with mostly all denim shorts and tanks that were white or close to. Some of my favorite tanks don’t come in white, which is why there are some other ones mixed in. Why only flat sandals? Well, you try walking in heels in the sand! >.< It’s about as fun and graceful as getting your teeth pulled! I love collecting basics irl and isl, and I have accumulated a good collection of well-made basics. I’ve tried to include all my favorites, but some just didn’t make it in this time. I’m also curious if there are some favorite basics that I may not be aware of. Do you have a favorite basic I don’t have listed here? Feel free to leave your input in the comments!
I want to make mention of two of the most exciting new skins out there imho. First is Blowpop‘s Elizabeth N2. As you know, I’ve been a huge fan of Infinity by Blowpop’s line since Elizabeth’s first release. Now Annkya has redone the Blowpop faces (+ a new face, Maya) and the new version is stunning. Creamy, softly sculpted, glowy, well-toned skins, with sophisticated-yet-adorable faces, and the best red lip ever, imho. I’m so, so loving this new release and I hope you do check it out soon. The second new skin release I’d like to gush about is League‘s skin release debut. I am so taken aback by how beautiful these faces are; they are seriously stunning. The body is well contoured while staying soft and dewy and the skin tones are perfect for summer and for our darker skinned sisters. There are two faces: Kate & Misty and they are equally beautiful, imho. Kate’s features are a little more mature than Misty’s, but as you see, depending on the shape of your ‘bones,’ both skins can leave you with quite a baby face. (Which is something I love. irl I have a baby face, so there you go.) I’m so deeply impressed with Nena’s work and really hope you get out to the shop to try on the demos. Breathe deep, shortness of breath is just a symptom when trying these on…
I’ve been avoiding too much Hair Fair talk on here, since I know you’re already overloaded, but it would be a durn shame if I didn’t express how dumfounded I was when I first laid eyes on Lamb‘s new Dog Roses hair. I know everyone is talking about this style- how could you not?!- and I am no different. Bravo x 1,000 Lamb!!! Check out the Lamb booth at hair fair, for some of the most sexy/laid-back/long/hippie mama hair on the grid.

Hi. I wasn’t going to post today, then the fantastic sim Drowsy opened and I had to post a little about it. I’ve been waiting in anticipation for it’s opening, and it’s even better than I expected. If you haven’t explored it yet, I’d do so soon as many beautiful sites and opening gifts await you. Check out the gift list below, if you want some direction.
I’d also like to mention my hair, a new favorite, funky style by Irollic. I hadn’t been to Irollic for a while, and was so happy to discover these fantastic braids. Each color comes with two style variations; in the other, the braid wraps around the front of the neck in a really cool way. Also, Gala Phoenix has released new makeups in the newest fact ‘June.’ I’ve really been loving this skin, and I’m so grateful for more makeup variations. Gala’s really on a roll as far as creative, beautiful, wearable colors and textures. I could have taken this dress to a sunny location, but I hadn’t been to House of Munster in a while and couldn’t resist the meat hooks. lol.
I made my way over to the Kalavinka Gallery in Rhizome, and picked up some of the most beautiful paintings. There’s also a free 2009 calender there and it’s beautiful enough to be a work of art in itself. I’m not sure how often this gallery changes, but last time I was there the paintings were different. Also, some $1L art from ArtMeter, at another part in Rhizome. It’s easier if you just take the slurl here. If you go to KIN-DZA-DZA, you can pick up more gifts, art and a cute little skybox. And at Epicurean, I found a pretty set of lingerie for $5L. I’m still sim hopping like nobody’s business and will report the findings soon. Love, Abra

Just a lite look for an evening snack, yay for cute, easy to throw on outfits such as this! I like Apple May‘s little dress = perfect for summer layering over bikinis, longer skirts, leggings, nothing…;) Still obsessed with Kookie‘s shoes, srsly I have some repressed sculpted-prim-feet energy going on. I can’t take them off! LaGyo just released a badass ethnic collection with huge earrings and cuff bracelets. I love this line so hard, so be sure to check it out. Also: lovin’ TekuTeku‘s new Flow hairdo and Earthstones‘ perfectly-summer-perfectly-hippie hairbeads. They come with a L or R option and a leather headband that goes across your forehead. A well done upgrade from an earlier model I’ve loved (by a different designer). Also, check below in ‘currently’ and join up with the NOH8 project Trace has put together. Hi all. About time I made a ‘proper outfit’ as those lite looks are wayyy too easy for my schlazy-lazy summer bum mindset. I wanted to go soft, girly and white, but organically enough, the idea evolved into something new. Polina-Kaestner‘s corset dress is such a great piece to have in one’s ‘closet,’ as is this this great, ruffled denim jacket from Bellange. I bought it at some obscure sim a while ago and it’s been tucked away in a rogue folder, waiting to see the light of day. Why I haven’t seen it on the feeds is beyond me… Bellange has some super cute things, I also picked up some ruffly shirts, $30L fishnet tights and a uber-cute winter coat. (There is no seasonal rest for the stylish, people.) My Shit Luck shorts are just polished enough to tie everything together; an ‘open front’ option comes with the shorts and you can buy suspenders that go along with the shorts as well. (Those are sold on the side.) Kookie‘s heels have been on my brain for far too long and I’m so happy I finally pulled them out today. I wore the sandals in a previous look and couldn’t get the tint ball to work. Well, it’s actually easy! Much easier than adjusting prim lashes. (D:<) They are by far my fav sculpted feet/shoes at the moment, mixing modern/sleek design with a little bit of funky style (aka. the curved heel and platform base). I swore I’d never wear fully sculpted feet, but you know how they tell you, never say never. Accessories = Royal Blue‘s heartbreakin’ rockin’ chunky as ^%$# heart (<333 it), LaGyo‘s equally fab & chunky ‘famous ring’ and a long time invo. survivor, my hustla clutch. I think it was my first purchase at Fabulous, oh soo long ago. That says a lot because invo. comes and goes, and only the good stuff makes the cut during spring cleaning! haha. Enjoy your night! I’m going to start a new thing, called ‘lite look’ here. Basically this is more off the cuff dressing from time to time. I was suppose to have been doing this for a while, under the “everyday me” category, but I like concept dressing. This is a way to work the other side of my style as well as showcase some things I haven’t worn on here. (It’s amazing how much hasn’t made it on O.O Life of a blogger…) Nothing is new in here, but I want to mention the Faire skin and LaGyo Beauty earrings. Why Faire’s skin hasn’t gotten more attention is beyond me. Maybe it’s a hard skin to fit a shape too, but to me it’s so unique and different. It makes me excited to have it in my invo. Do you see that mouth? Oh my, it’s so cute and lovely! And the earrings! I love the sea foam green rocks (fav colorrrr!) and how they are big hunka hunkas of lovin’. Hai! I told you I’d be back in no time with mah next tomboy look! This is a look I love so much, I dunno why! I think I’m so excited for summer and being outdoors and camping!! I love to go out into the woods and just hike and forget about the city for a while and I’ll be going later today for 2 nights. \o/ This look was dubbed my “cute little homeless japanese girl” look by one of my friends, and I guess that could work too. lmao. But srsly, I have had a lot of fun with this look, and I have my current tomboy phase + Love Soul‘s hippie releases to thank. It’s been fun to dig into ‘the closet’ and dredge up all my old ‘fantasy woodlands’ accessories, which work so beautifully as camping/granola/hippie accessories as well. I also have to express how much I am loving my Junwave hippie wrap hair, omg they even made it from ‘hemp’- love it. I dunno what all the fuss is about tomboys and Disney lately, but all I have to say is l.o.v.i.n.g i.t.!!! I think it’s fun to play with a look and take a theme that isn’t usually attached to fashion and make it work. Camping is dear to me & so is style, so there you go. (btw, my RL tent is VERY stylish…MSR people, it’s a fantastic brand!)
As for the look’s creation, it took a while to achieve. (read: patience.) I had to edit a lot of the accessories together to get them to fit on the attachment points. I wanna thank Toast Bard (a la Fashionably Dead <3) for making such cool (and mod, tytyty) hair accessories for !Lamb, as they worked perfectly as accessories in my ‘just rolled on the forest floor’ ‘do. (We’re sticking to RL inspiration here, in the woods there is always moss, twigs, cobwebs in my hair! o.o) The Woodland Winds hair wraps are something I’ve had since my ‘blue elf skin noob-a-licious days’ and I still adore them. If I have any elven, fantasy readers out there, “Hello!” and check out WW for some sexy leather outfits. I have more accessories than I’d like to account for in the writing part of this, lol, but rest assured I love them all. I hope you enjoy this funneh look! xD Love, Abra

Sneaker Luv

Hai. IRL I’m totally a sneaker girl. Mind you I like my heels and boots(!), but when walk around I want to be comfortable because that’s when I’m at my best. My philosophy: carry a big sack, wear some cute kicks and pull out the heels when you arrive at your destination. ;)) Today I bring to you my new favorites, Aitui’s “9ifni”. The name is Aitui mirrored horizontally. ;)) I’m really excited about these sneakers because they rock sooo hard and you can tell the kind of craftsmanship that was put into them. The look of the sneaker is totally cool, very distinctly Aitui with that perfect shadowy texture and I think, in the world of SL sneakers, 9ifni’s look is very fresh. As a SL sneaker addict, I can honestly say that I was able to justify the addition of these into my wardrobe since their look is something new. Versatility comes with this shoe, as there are 7 color changing parts and 15 colors to choose from (someone do the math…), my favorite being the muted rose color named “Clay.” The colors aren’t tints either, they are textures, which makes all the difference as you loose a bit of the texture when you tint something. Each color is rich, deep and lustrous. The style is totally unisex and resizable too. I have a bunch of outfits planned for this sneaker as it’ll go with just about every color scheme imaginable, but today I bring you an urban inspired look that’s comfy, casual and a bit flashy. I love new years. A fresh start, if only hypothetically, makes this girl feel sooo good. Don’t mind the title, I was having a Fiona Apple moment.
Initially I had three looks photographed for this post. (Somehow New Years always means changing three times or so.) (It was also suppose to go up New Year’s day, but we got started a lil early this year so…) What happened to my glam look? Eeee…I must dig it up later, as I have seemed to have missplaced it. Am I the only one who finds this delightfully funny? hehehe. Well, on with the show…
The first look accurately portrays me after the 4 glasses of champagne, the cosmo (will always be a fav), the 3 shots of something sweet (bought by the friend who’s always trying to get me drunk in hopes I’ll make out with him) and the gin and tonic (to keep it classy) consumed over the course of New Years 2009. (Or would that be 2008?) Yeah, I’m a lightweight, but I’m also small so there. Somehow whilst intoxicated, I morph into some sort of hummingbird, attracted to all things sweet and colorful and a bit funky. And I pile it on. Bad fashion? For some, sure! But for me, I find it fantastic, especially for dancing. Just don’t loose your rings, child.
And then there is the next day…brunch after the fact. Cozy, comfy, cute. Keep warm, drink water, eat your favorite meal and use a friend’s shoulder when it turns out to be much to much to keep your head up straight. I do partake in the ‘hair of the dog’ theory by consuming the ever popular bloody mary. Just gimme it extra spicy with all the fixings (that means spicy pickled beans, those lil onions, green olives with pimento and briny asparagus spears, and no less! Don’t piss off a girl with a headache, haha.) A tip: Pile on the makeup to cure the ‘face hangover’ people. Do it well, with skill, but do it. Please, heed my advice. Normally I’m a pretty natural girl, but you know, we are living in the age of cameras…built into everything. I swear, everyone and their spork has a camera now. My friend’s grandma doesn’t even drive anymore, but she’s quite handy with her cellphone’s camera. Be prepared.
BTW, this is my new favorite skin shop. Tarnished!!! December makes the most fantastic & unique skins with the thickest, most kissable lips, ever. I am absolutely smitten! More are to come in the future and you will absolutely be seeing them here. Until then, relish in the beauty which is ‘Midnight Snowstorm’ (my absolute favorite skin OTM) and her sisters.
