Hotel staff was very pleasant and accommodating (especially with our late night check-in). The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bedding was so comfortable, we didn't want to leave. Free parking in this gated accommodation complex. Everything you could want for your stay in Oudtshoorn - centrally located. This place is spectacular! I arrived as a solo traveler but I'm already planning to return with my husband and friends next time. The staff go above and beyond – from welcoming you with a drink to offering advice for a walk. The staff clearly like to make their guests happy and they were so fun to talk with! Dinner was exceptional; it was the best meal I had in South Africa. The menu has many courses and options to choose from. The kitchen accommodated by dietary restrictions without question – thank you! I highly recommend going for a late afternoon/dusk stroll and sunrise walk. It is safe; the animals keep a healthy distance. I saw impalas, blue wilderbeest, giraffes, and zebras on my walks. There is a great 5km roundtrip walk to a viewing platform on the back of the property - amazing views of the river and valley area at sunset. At sunrise, most of the animals were gathered on the front lawn. Other things you can do on the property: Take a dip in the infinity pool, sun bathe on the deck, request a drive of the property if you don't prefer to walk, read some books (they have many on wildlife and the history and culture of SA), sit by the fire, enjoy the cigar lounge, order a drink at the bar (it seems to have everything and you can ask for a drink anytime) and sit outside by the firepit. I wish I stayed for several more days to do it all!

We had such a lovely stay. The guest house is very central, but in a quiet street, so we could walk everywhere. The bed was sooooo comfortable and we will definitely return in summer, when we can take advantage of the fabulous swimming pool. We were met by Henk, who was really friendly. We also met Sandra the next morning who prepared a stunning breakfast for us and was such a warm, beautiful person.

My stay at the Karoo Art Hotel felt like a home away from home! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and made me feel genuinely welcome. The hotel has a variety of charming spaces to relax in—whether soaking up the sun on the beautiful stoep, unwinding in the cosy bar, or admiring the exquisite art and stunning furniture arranged throughout. The food was simply outstanding! I enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the restaurant, and every meal was top-notch, thanks to the exceptional chef Derek Lowe. My room was spacious, spotless, and had all the amenities I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the small balcony provided a breathtaking view. Overall, I absolutely loved my stay and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

Kwetu Guest Farm is a truly magical place to unwind and get back to nature, and a highlight of our trip to South Africa thus far. Giraffes, kudu, eland, sable, wildebeest, springbok and exceptional bird life are all nestled in the stunning mountains just outside Swellendam. Watching giraffes while braaing is really something. And we loved the fact that you can walk around and truly be close with the animals, not just drive. But it was the kindness and support of the staff that will truly stay with us. I read some negative reviews by others and wonder if we really stayed in the same place?! Do not hesitate to book this gem - you will not be disappointed.

Nice place to go to see the ostrich's, but honestly the Ostrich farm tours are not that great anymore. Cango Caves were good and interesting, we did not do the extreme tour but it sounded very interesting if you are looking for an adventure. There are plenty of restaurants in the town, we went to 'Nostalgie) and this was some of the best food I have ever tasted, very traditional south African home cooked food, I'm not a fan of pumpkin, but he pumpkin served as a side on the mains was delicious

Just loved the game drives and seeing all the animals and the guides very informative. Had a great couple of hours in the Spa. Food was really good. We rented 2 Karoo cottages which were quite nice. Draw back was that we could not enjoy our outside area to relax as a drain or something kept backing up and flooding the patio. Besides that all was good.

Unfortunately, we were there on a Monday and most restaurants close at 17:00 on a Monday. However, our host recommended we have dinner at the Karoo Art Hotel with a choice of fine dining or pub dinner. We choose pub dinner, which was delicious. I went to see friends in Worcester - my first trip there. I was on my own, so found the 10 days too long, as I did not have transport. I was thinking of looking for work there, but not many opportunities for my speciality - aimed more to tourists. People friendly - unfortunately their Tourism Bureau has closed down. Have to be aware of crime, but all over S.A. anyway - lot of poverty. Had a lovely stay all the same.

The beds are very comfortable. There’s an air conditioner for hot days and a great fireplace for cooler evenings. The hot tub was a hit with the family and I loved cooking on the gas stove. We packed two mosquito repellents which we plugged in the kitchen and in our bedroom to keep the Mozies away. The tents are very spacious with everything you need for your stay.
