Hello Jenny-May,!


We hope you're enjoying the bringht moments this autumn and not getting too soggy in between. Our warm, bright studio is here to light up the winter evenings - set the routine now, and you'll be reaping the benefits as we move further into the season. Perfectly timed is our upcoming 6-week Foundation Course, starting Wednesday 6th November 9.30 - 10.30am- a great opportunity for brand new students and those who want to get back into the basics. Please share with anyone you can think of who would benefit from getting into yoga- they will thank you for it!


As ever, September and October have been busy months for us. This year we have even more to celebrate as one of our teacher in training, Chloe Burke, has passed her Iyengar assessment and is now fully qualified after 3.5 years of training. Watch this space as we'll be adding Chloe to the teaching rota - her classes will be full of energy and enthusiasm- not to be missed!


We also had the pleasure of hosting friend of HYC and guest teacher Shaili Shafai for a weekend of workshops. Thank you to our lovely community for a warm and generous welcome - we enjoyed workshopping yoga practices, ideas and concepts, all in great company. We love having guest teachers - it's so healthy to inject new perspectives and approaches. Our next guest teacher (Christian Pisano) is booked for Jan 31st-2nd Feb - the first for 2025! Christian is one of only three people to have received an Advanced Senior Diploma from BKS Iyengar- you can learn more about his practice and his unique approach here. Bookings are now live and the workshop is likely to sell out soon- so book now to avoid disappointment (suitable for students with 4+ year of Iyengar practice).


If you're keen to continue workshopping, or give it a try - our next Enhanced Practice Workshop will be on Sunday 8th December (book here) and led by Jenny-May. These sessions are great if you're interested in developing a daily practice, and exploring all aspects of yoga.

Peaceful Practice for Troubled Times

In Aid of the Refugee Council

We’re happy to announce that we will be hosting a Class Fundraiser for the Refugee Council on the 19th of October. The initiative of Rowena Harris, the fundraiser is a great opportunity to show your support for the Refugee Council and also a chance to spend a little more time with this fabulous teacher! Rowena often teaches our Saturday class and students always enjoy her compassionate approach. We are delighted to support her fundraiser for this hugely important charity. The class is available to book online with the suggested donation of £20 - should you wish to donate more, please add a tip at checkout.

Join our monthly Pranayama class this Sunday 20th October, 6.30 - 8 pm and practise the art of yogic breathing. It is the perfect partner to asana (posture) and is highly recommended for those who have practised asana regularly for some time

If you’ve been meaning to attend classes, or know somebody who has, this is a perfect place to start. Our Foundation Courses take students through the basic poses and concepts of Iyengar yoga in a progressive way. Suitable for complete beginners of all ages and fitness levels, those new to Iyengar yoga and students returning after a break.

HEALTH QUESTIONNAIRE

If you haven't already, we kindly ask that you complete our short Health Questionnaire. We need to keep our records up-to-date for both insurance purposes and so that we can ensure that teaching is tailored appropriately for students with ongoing health concerns. This will soon become mandatory for making a class booking. If you've completed it before but your health has changed, please submit a new form. You can fill out the form here - we also have a poster with a printed QR code at reception if you'd like to complete it next time you're in.

Crowdfunder Appeal


A huge and heartfelt thank you to all of those who have supported and donated to our Crowdfunder appeal - we're about to sign off on final design plans for the storage area and will warmly welcome new windows into the bathrooms very soon. We raised £1130 in total, well over our target of £1k. We've been bowled over by the kindness and generosity of our community and can't wait to start using and sharing the benefits.

Earlier in the month we attended the Fresher's Fair at Hereford College of Arts. It's always a lovely opportunity for us to meet and chat with students and promote our Young Adults discount across our classes. Making yoga accessible to all is integral to our vision and the reason behind our special reduction (£5 off any of our classes with unlimited use) - please share the discount code YOUNGADULT with 16-24 year olds who'd benefit from classes.
