Great Guide on the Great Divide

I received my Dura a week before I was to leave for my bikepacking trip. My Wahoo had just died and I was just about to bite the bullet and get a gps before I left… but the Dura was delivered on time. It was easy to set up and use, and—wow—what a great battery life. My Wahoo elemnt would sometimes not last the entire day without recharging and I never lost charge on the trip. I gave it a top-up on the weekly rest days, but otherwise it worked like a charm. The way it showed climbs and upcoming segments was different from the Wahoo, which I used for several years, but it didn’t take long to get used to it. All in all, I’m very happy with my Dura. Oh, and one of the features I love is that I set the reminder every 20 minutes of riding to rehydrate. I don’t think I’ve ever been so well hydrated on any bikepacking trip, and water makes the difference. I use it mainly for bikepacking, not so much for training, but it is nice to see my 5 mile split times shrink slightly each time.

Surprisingly fantastic.

Battery life is fantastic, ridden 200km and the device is still sitting at 94%. Great UI, don’t have to navigate through a million menus like my Garmin. Things I would like to see in the future: • Speed sensitive turn alerts. Sometimes I’m mountain biking and going slow up a hill, I get a turn alert far ahead of the turn and can’t see my heart rate / cadence data. • When following a Coros workout, I accidentally ended my workout half way through a ride by clicking the side button once. I would prefer the button be ‘hold to end’ rather than a single click. • Device only rerouting • How do I upload my own basemaps?

Good computer overall but needs some refinement

Overall I like the unit. The battery life is amazing and I really like the Bluetooth connectivity w/ my power meter, Di2, and HR strap. I do have a few things that could be improved however. 1) The top line metric for the training pages is much to large while the last metric is far to small. When I have power up, I don’t need to see a color display of my zones, just a number. At the same time, I am unable to read the ride time I have displayed at the bottom of the training page. 2) On a similar note, there should be more ability to zoom in on the map page. 3) The following should be included in metrics to display on the training pages: total energy in kJ, last lap avg. cadence, and TSS. 4) The Digital Crown can “jitter” between training pages, especially when riding gravel or chip seal. 5) The default power zones based on FTP are wildly inaccurate and do not match industry standards. 6) As a person with poor vision, I feel that Coros could do more to make the device more accessible. Better zoom options/options for larger screen text (see above) as well more additional levels of back lighting. 7) Finally, connectivity w/ Zwift. I understand this is in the pipeline but just wanted to point out that having that would be wonderful. Thank you Coros for accepting the feedback and I hope it’s helpful in improving the DURA computer.

amazing

just got my dura a few days ago and I can only describe it as amazing. build quality is solid, it feels really nice in your hand, mounting is sturdy and the display is nice and bright in the sunlight. At first I was a bit disappointed with the display when I unpacked it, but it was only because of my dimly light room. The app is quite good with the dura connecting with my home wifi and adding routs is simple. All the accessory are of nice quality and the scroll wheel is nice to use on a ride, in general I have switched off the touchscreen except for the map because the buttons are really intuitive, nice and simple program layout. the only problem I have at the moment is the strava uploads a bit fiddly, but I think its user error or it will be patched. Amazing that this costs under 300 euros. shipping was amazing being delivered via express and costumer support is nice and helpful. I will definitely look into buying a coros watch, hopefully the experience is as nice as the dura. Overall I have to say its the best purchase have done for my bike and I am grateful for having the patience for the dura and not having just bought the Garmin 1040.

The best cycling computer I ever had

I used a lot of gps devices for cycling on road, mtb and gravel. From short rides to "ultra". With the Dura, I never got lost, everything's easy (I plan my routes with komoot and transfer them seemlessly). stats going immediatly to the Coros app and Strava, and when I don't wear a HRM belt, my Vertix automaticly connects and is used as HRM. Above all, I can ride "endlessly" without carring a powerbank or turning off the device to save batteries : I am lucky enough to live in south of France and gett a lot of sun => I never charges it from july till today, and I rode a lot !!! Amazing device for 1/4 of the price of some other.... no brainer, solid, efficient and reliable !

Sorprendente

Es sorprendente, los de coros lo han vuelto a hacer. Es un GPS genial. Me encanta como se navega. Similar a mi Vertix 2 en muchas cosas. El tema solar es fantástico

I love my Dura!

It is super easy to use on the ride with the big wheel. You can scroll through screens easily and the split screen is my favorite. The battery life is amazing, especially if you are in the sun. it pairs seamlessly to my Coros arm band heart monitor and watch. The route re-routing works great. I love riding with the Dura.

Competition For The Established Brands

I bought the Coros Dura because I really liked the experience using my Coros Pace 2 and was frustrated with my old cycling computer constantly glitching and crashing. The Dura just works. Period. Never lost a ride, never had to 'forget' and 're-add' and never had to wait more than a few seconds for it to boot up. Using the Dura is effortless. Some of the navigation features still need work, but having seen the continuous improvements to the early Pace 2 firmware, I am not concerned at all that Coros will continue to release firmware updates that will fix bugs and bring new features to the Dura for years to come. The battery life is excellent, although the solar charging does not keep up with consumption when you're not riding in full-sun the entire ride. Would be cool if the solar charging worked all the time to extend times between charging. That being said, I only needed to charge it once in 25 days of daily use, which corresponds to approximately 1% battery usage per hour of riding. This roughly corresponds with the 120 hour battery life, but I haven't really had a chance to fully test this. Overall, good first impression and good experience so far. Looking forward to seeing what else is possible with this hardware as future firmwares are released.
