Overview

“Ujszovetseg: elet, igazsag es vilagossag” (New Testament: Life, Truth and Light) is a Hungarian-language New Testament published in 2003 by Biblica, Inc., designed to present the meaning of the original Greek text in a simple and natural form that is easy to understand [1][2]. The translation, known by the abbreviation EIV, was produced as part of Biblica’s international mission to make Scripture accessible and is related to the Easy-to-Read Version tradition of Bible translations [3]. The source text for the New Testament was the Greek text found in the 4th revised edition of the Greek New Testament published by the United Bible Societies (1993) and the 27th edition of Nestle-Aland’s Novum Testamentum Graece (1993) [3]. The translation is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA), making it one of the more openly licensed Hungarian Scripture texts available [1].
