How Birthdays Can Have a Lasting Impact

Imagine a scene of family and friends gathered around a table singing “Happy Birthday” to their loved one.  The room is filled with colorful decorations of streamers, balloons, banners, and party hats. The glow of the birthday candles reveals a big smile on the birthday child’s face.  It is a magical moment that will create a lasting memory.

We do not celebrate birthdays because of someone winning an award or being in first place.  Birthdays do not happen when someone graduates from college or starts a new job.  Birthday celebrations happen because we want a loved one to know how much we care for them and how much they mean to us.

We all matter. We all have a purpose.  Birthdays are special celebrations that can remind us how much we are loved.  They are a time to celebrate someone just for being in our lives. How amazing is that!

I started Enchanted Day because I want every child to know just how loved and valued they are.  I want every child to see that they have a purpose for being here, no matter what their current circumstances may be.

A birthday may just be one day out of the year.  A birthday party may just last a few hours on one Saturday afternoon. But the memories and joy that a child will receive from this celebration will last a lifetime.
