    • Jay Stansell's Yellow Card 

    • Jay W. Stansell is a licensed attorney in Washington State who is no longer accepting new cases or clients and does not appear in court on behalf of clients. Jay has authorized WAND and other community organizations to share his card with at-risk community members, business owners, activists, and allies.

      • If an individual is confronted or questioned by ICE or other federal immigration enforcement agents, they may present Jay’s card.
      • At that point of contact, Jay will agree to serve as their temporary pro bono (free of charge) attorney.
      • Jay will take a phone call and assert the individual’s right to remain silent and their right to refuse consent to a search.
      • If further legal representation is needed beyond the initial contact with ICE/DHS, the individual will need to seek separate legal counsel.

      When you order this Yellow Card, you’ll receive a companion card explaining how it should be used. Please always distribute the Yellow Card together with the accompanying explanation card.
