Thank you for your interest in serving on the national Student Advisory Board of Tau Beta Pi!
The Student Advisory Board was created in 2013 to provide students and recent graduates input to the Executive Council and Executive Director -- especially outside of Convention. We meet quarterly via Zoom to identify and prioritize areas of potential improvement in TBP. Then, we work to make those improvements in order to ultimately enhance resources that are available to collegiate chapter officers. These areas of priority and improvements are assigned to our separate committees which meets more frequently to fulfill their duties. Currently, our committees include mentoring chapters, creating documents in a toolkit on how best to run a chapter, and reaching out to all areas of TBP via social media and other outlets.
Serving as an SAB member represents a great way to stay involved with TBP beyond your collegiate chapter. You have the opportunity to gain excellent insight into the inner workings of an honor society, as well as to provide valuable input as you transition out of being an officer/student member into the professional world. We accept applications from current undergraduate and graduate students OR those who are within one year of their graduation. Each member serves a 3-year term, and the term for new members selected from this application cycle will run from March 2023 - February 2026.
Before completing this application, we recommend that you take a few minutes to review the SAB website (
www.tbp.org/about/studentAdvBoard.cfm) to familiarize yourself with our current goals, initiatives, and completed projects to get a better understanding of the type of work that we do to support TBP collegiate chapters.
If you have any questions, or would like to submit any additional documents in support of your application (resume, letter of recommendation, etc.), please email
sab.officers@tbp.org. Please note that submission of the completed application form below is the only requirement for candidates to be considered for a position on the Student Advisory Board.
