Describe your project

Micronaut is a framework which supports Java, Groovy and Kotlin as programming languages. It allows developers to build any kind of application from command-line applications, Serverless Functions, or web applications (REST API, or apps with server-side HTML). It works well for monoliths or microservices architecture.

The whole framework is open sourced licensed under Apache 2.0.

Motivation for joining Commonhaus

During the evaluation of several new potential homes for the Micronaut Framework, the community identified the Commonhaus Foundation as the one that aligns best with the core values of the Micronaut community. Commonhaus’ guiding principles of honoring the project and community identity, offering guidance and support without imposing mandates, maintaining transparency in all of their actions, and encouraging long-term thinking for sustained project impact, will ensure the future growth and success of the Micronaut Framework while preserving the project’s autonomy and established governance structures.

Joining Commonhaus will continue to provide a neutral ground for the framework, making it accessible to all interested organizations and contributors. If we are accepted into the Commonhaus Foundation, we look forward to contributing our experience and capabilities towards the ecosystem that Commonhaus provides for all of the projects under its umbrella.

Things to review before submitting

• Review the bylaws, especially sections about projects,
  decision making,
  and voting for significant decisions.

• Review the Fiscal Sponsorship Terms and Conditions.
  These outline the legal and financial framework for how we support projects.

• If all is well, and you agree to move forward, then create a PR with the following:

  1. An updated CONTACTS.yaml that names your project representative in the EGC section
  2. An updated PROJECTS.yaml that provides details / describes your project
  3. An updated TRADEMARKS.md that adds your project name and project logo (if you have one).
     Please include the footnote reference, as we are using your project name and logo with your permission until a formal agreement is in place and assets are transferred.

  The commit should be "Signed-off-by" your GH login (git commit -s -m "<project> joining request, yyyy-mm-dd")
