Beautiful people,

a few weeks back I made a wild, wild decision to apply to do a Masters Degree at UCL. I found a dream course, applied to the university and despite my creative background was accepted with an unconditional offer!

I’m blown away.

This opportunity means so much to me on multiple levels. Personally, I’ll be the first in my family to not only earn a BA but now also pursue a Master's. On a deeper level, this programme will allow me to continue my growing research into the lasting impacts of slavery and colonialism — particularly how they’ve shaped (and limited) the ways my community, and other marginalised communities, have been able to document and archive themselves.

While my ambitions extend beyond academia as the sole site of learning, I’m deeply invested in bridging the gap between access to information and open learning, creating spaces where knowledge is shared, not gatekept.

With that being said, I need your help to make these next steps possible.

Due to my late application, I’m faced with the decision of having to accept my place within the next week and I am short on funds for tuition.

The course itself cost £16,000, and that’s not even factoring in living costs for its duration.

For reasons of safety, I’m not disclosing the course, but I’m happy to answer any questions for curious donators!
