Hi there! We are The Dead & Down, an Exploratory Roots Rock band from Southwest Montana. We have been a full time touring band for the past couple of years, we have released two full length studio albums (Dead & Down 2023, No Broken Bones 2024) and have opened for the likes of Paul Cauthen, Futurebirds, Fruition, and the Last Revel. After spending an extensive amount of time playing live shows, many of our songs have evolved to fit the live show setting and after much conversation we feel it's time for us to record a Live EP. Our last two records have been recorded at Morris Mountain Studios (please go check out Ben & Kayti's most excellent band Desperate Electric) and this one will be no different. At this point, we trust them with our lives and we know they are going to deliver the most high quality recorded product in the state.

The record itself will consist of at minimum 5 songs consisting of songs from our last two records as well as a new song or two as a teaser for what is to come... we have a host of new material that we have been working on as well and intend to start working towards our 3rd studio album by the end of the year. In addition to recording the songs, our close friend and filmmaker Beau Baxter will be filming the making of this record and producing an accompanying short film that includes both the performances and behind the scenes footage from the session.

This project is incredibly compelling for us and we firmly believe that it will be an incredibly valuable addition to the music community both in Montana and around the country. We are, first and foremost, a live band and we want to showcase that aspect of our art!

All of the money that is raised is going to go directly towards recording, mixing, and mastering FIRST. Beyond that we need funding for the filming of the whole thing which will entail 2 videographers working for 3 days on the whole project. Once the album itself is finished we will need to pay for marketing materials such as merch, CDs, and any sort of graphic design needed for the physical albums and overall online promotion (targeted ads, conversion campaigns, mailing physical copies to radio stations, etc).
