I usually put a lot of cultural references in my comic strips, so I’m gonna list them from time to time. These lists won’t include NHL references, once the strips are about hockey and it’s set in Canada, so of course there will be references to NHL all the time. Won’t list references to Ontario Hockey League either. References to other hockey teams or leagues, I’ll consider. And references to other sports will be listed.
References like logos of famous brands won’t be listed either, that includes hockey equipment, again, unless we’re talking about stuff that most people won’t recognize.

Starting with strip 1, on panels 1 and 2, the keychan is shaped like a Pokéball. On the third panel, in Nobre’s room there are posters of comic characters Madman and Alpha Flight and hardcore punk band Comeback Kid. There’s an X-Men comic book featuring Wolverine on the cover on the bedside table. There’s a Dragon Ball manga on the kitchen table on the fourth panel and Nobre wears a Blink-182 t-shirt. He keeps it under his flanel shirt in the strips 2, 3 and 4 and changes it for a Sum 41 t-shirt on strip 5, but it’s not very clear then.
Also on strip 3, there’s a lot of bands on display on a poster on the bus stop, but they’re covered by the characters.

On the fourth panel of strip 12, there’s a Madman poster on the arena’s wall. On the third panel of strip 13, a banner on the arena’s wall says Alpha Flight is better than X-Men, but it’s to small to read. Just like a banner on the arena’s wall on the fourth panel of strip 21 that asks Is Human-Fly the best Canadian hero ever?, but it’s covered by speech bubbles and cut by the panel. And also, it’s not, Human-Fly is great, but Captain Canuck is the greatest. 😎
A lot of artists are mentioned over strip 23: Comeback Kid, Sum 41, Alexisonfire, Olivia Rodrigo, Machine Gun Kelly, Drake, Post Malone, The Weeknd, Herbie Hancock, Joe Satriani and Intervals.
On strip 26, Sum 41 t-shirt is finally fully seen.
