About
Laura Marling’s eighth album 'Patterns in Repeat' explores motherhood, mortality, and the shifting roles within family life. Inspired by the therapeutic concept of Family Constellations and her own experience of becoming a mother in 2023, the record captures both the miraculous joy and profound fragility of new life. Blending lullabies, old tunes, instrumentals, and even a song written by her father, the album carries a hushed intimacy, recorded largely at home alongside her newborn. With delicate strings arranged by Rob Moose and minimal production from Dom Monks, Marling creates a tender meditation on lineage, love, and the responsibilities passed through generations.
