Chronicling the growth and changes in Tucker's Pond in hopes of spreading the joy of man made ponds, bogs, and carnivorous plants. This past spring saw a complete revamp of the pond. We made it bigger and added three different types of filters. The pond contains two biofilters - one in the waterfall and one inside the skimmer, a 3/4 inch pea gravel bog filter and a skimmer to remove any floating debris. We added pond comets, frogs, crayfish and snails in May. June added my first Carnivorous plants and Tucker's Pond was born. This coming spring will add a few additional projects. Changing the pea gravel bog into a more traditional peat bog where we should be able to plant the Sarracenia and fly traps directly into the medium. Would also like to add an additional bog area to expand the growth and production of additional Carnivorous species. Hopefully the future will hold a new business where we can provide plants, pond / bog supplies and installation, or just good conversation.
