2L Emma Farrell Selected for National Consumer Law Center Fellowship
The National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) has awarded Emma Farrell, a second-year student at Michigan Law, its 2026 Next Generation Fellowship. The summer fellowship was established in recognition of NCLC’s continued work to build the consumer law community of the future and is awarded to a law student seeking to explore the field of consumer law.

Isobel Blakeway-Phillips, ’25, and Michael “Mike” Tiu Jr., LLM ’25, are the 2025 recipients of Michigan Law’s Jon Henry Kouba Prize, which recognizes the best paper or papers on European Union law or on international peace and security among nations. Jon Henry Kouba, ’65, established the prize in 2003. The winners receive a $1,000 stipend.

In mid-May, just days after the spring semester concluded, 16 students from across the country attended the Bergstrom Child Welfare Law Summer Fellowship program at the Butzel Retreat Center in Ortonville, Michigan. It marked the 30th time that law students interested in this field of practice have come together for a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn and network.
