What age ranges do you have teams for?

We can provide contact football for everyone aged 10 and up. All our teams are registered with BAFA (British American Football Association) and such are mixed sex at all age groups.

U14: Ages 10 to 14, play 5 v 5 flag football.
U16: Ages 14 to 16, play 5 v 5 contact football.
U19: Ages 16 to 19, play 9 v 9 contact football.
Adult: Aged 18+, play 11 v 11 contact football.

Do I need experience to play?

No, we're open to complete rookies and experienced players alike. A good base level of fitness is helpful, but not essential. We have Rookie days which are designed for complete beginners, as well as those with some sporting background.

You should enjoy contact, as there is a lot of it, and making big plays that look great on social media!!

When/Where do you practice?

All our practices are held at Butts Park Arena

Sundays from 31st January 2026

U14 - 11am to 1pm
U16 - 1pm to 3pm
U19 - 3pm to 5pm
Adult - 5pm to 7pm

Our Adult team also has additional sessions on Thursday night from 8pm to 10pm starting on Thursday 29th January.

Question 4

How do I try the sport?

Under BAFA rules, everyone gets three free sessions to try the sport before you need to decide if you want to sign up or not.

We have some off seasons sessions for everyone to try the sport, whether you've played before or not.

Rookie Sessions
30th November 2025 and 11th January 2026
Butts Park Arena, Coventry, 5 - 7pm
Sessions are specifically for people who have never played before and will give you a chance to try the sport and most positions.

OTA (Organised Team Activity) Sessions:
14th December 2025 and 25th January 2026
Butts Park Arena, Coventry, 5 - 7pm
OTAs are a bit more position-specific and run more like our normal practices. They’re ideal for experienced players, but also great for rookies to get involved and learn as they go.

How do I register for sessions?

Further down our Linktree, we have two forms to fill in.

If you are a complete rookie and have never played the sport before, fill in the Rookie Player Recruitment Form.

If you played before, at any level, please fill in the Experienced Player Recruitment form.

All sessions are free, and we just need some basic information to make sure we can look after you on the day, from a medical perspective, and so we can contact you again with instructions on how to join the team?

Question 6

Who do you play against?

We play in the National Premiership, the highest level there is to play in the UK. There are 12 teams in the Premiership, split 6 in the North and 6 in South.

Unbelievably, Coventry falls in the Northern conference, and we play home and away fixtures against the other teams. The other teams are:

Manchester Titans
East Kilbride Pirates
Nottingham Caesars
Scunthorpe Alphas
Merseyside Nighthawks

In 2025, we made the National Semi-Finals, and were ranked as the 4th best team in the whole country. Our aim is to be No.1 in 2026.

When is your season?

Our year works loosely like:

Pre-Season: Jan - Apr
Season: Apr - Sept
Off-Season: Sept - Jan.

Exact dates for games and events will be put up when they are released nearer December/January time.

How much does it cost?

For our Adult Team, the fees are:

1.  BAFA Registration Fee: £55
2.  Phoenix Club Membership: £45 / £25 for Students
3.  Adult Team Membership: Up Front Payment of £280, OR 8     Monthly Payments of £37.50 / £25 for Students.
