Urgent Appeal for Davao Oriental
On October 10, 2025, two strong earthquakes (Magnitude 7.4 and 6.8) struck Davao Oriental, severely affecting the municipalities of Manay, Baganga, Tarragona, Mati, and Banaybanay. The quakes triggered landslides, damaged hundreds of homes, and displaced thousands of families now seeking refuge in evacuation centers.
As of October 11, 2025, official reports show:
• 70,142 affected families (approx. 280,000 individuals)
• 920 damaged houses (96 totally, 824 partially)
• 3 deaths, 360 injured (including children and students)
• 18 evacuation centers operating
