Hey, I made this LUT after spending a whole summer trying to learn how to make cinematic videos with no money. At the start, colour grading felt complicated and out of reach. Everyone online had their own rules and their own “right” way of doing things.

At some point I realised something simple. There is no right way to colour grade. People just overcomplicate it.

This LUT is the base look I use after converting log footage to Rec.709. It’s designed to give you a clean, neutral starting point once your footage already looks normal. It’s not a finished look and it’s not trying to be cinematic on its own. It just helps you stop overthinking colour and focus on the video.

When I use it, I first convert log to Rec.709 using a technical LUT or Color Space Transform, then apply this LUT and turn the intensity down until it feels right, usually around sixty to eighty percent. After that I adjust exposure and white balance. If I want a vibe, I add grain or halation on top.

In DaVinci Resolve, apply this LUT on a node after your log-to-Rec.709 transform and lower the key output. In Premiere Pro, apply it in Lumetri and reduce intensity. In Final Cut Pro, use a Custom LUT and lower the mix. In CapCut or mobile editors, apply
