Why aren't my Colonial Life plans showing on People First?

Accepted Answer

People First only handles State of Florida PRE TAX benefits. If you enrolled with a Colonial Life agent, and do not see the deduction listed on your People First benefits summary, that means your coverage is POST TAX. The best method to verify that your deductions are active is to check your pay stub, or login to the Colonial Life for Policyholders Portal.

Is there a deadline to enroll or change my plan(s)?

As long as you're actively working, you have the ability to add or change any of our POST TAX plans year-round. There is NO deadline to add or change coverage.

*PRE TAX enrollment is only available during Open Enrollment, or to new hires within their first 60 days.

Question 4

Do I have to renew my coverage each year?

Accepted Answer

Your Colonial Life policies will automatically continue from year-to-year unless you specifically request to cancel or stop paying premiums.

Question 5

I received a refund check for premium overpayment. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

If you received a refund check for premium overpayment, that means there is a discrepancy with your payroll deductions, or coverage may have accidentally lapsed or terminated.

Billing issues and policy reinstatements require time-sensitive attention and should be addressed as soon as possible. It's important that you notify me right away to get the problem resolved.

When is Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment for the 2026 plan year begins on October 13th at 8:00 AM and closes on October 31st at 6:00 PM.
