On this adventure, expect a beautiful peninsula hike that follows the Cape Lookout's ridge with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, and many opportunities to see whales. You'll be hiking along a cliff-lined ridge that is hundreds of feet above the water below. Expect some areas that will always be extremely muddy and slippery, so wearing waterproof boots or other sturdy footwear will be a good idea. Hiking poles are recommended for muddy areas if you are uncomfortable jumping across large puddles. This trail would be kid-friendly during the summer months of the year only when the trail is easiest.
