Take a chef’s food tour with Darren! Seriously, do it. This was an incredible experience. Chef Darren is extremely knowledgable about all the food we tried (how they’re typically prepared, how ingredients tend to be sourced, regional differences in Italian food, and so much more) and about the history of the surrounding areas too. We got to try so many delicious things, including scrumptious pastries, cappuccinos, fresh pasta, cured meats and fresh cheeses, and of course so much wine! On top of it all, Darren is also just a super kind person and really fun to be around. He made the experience an absolute joy and a highlight of our trip to Italy.

Darren’s food tour experience was wonderful. He gives great information and history relating not only to food but also Bologna’s history. The food and drink experience was outstanding. In addition, Darren was patient answering questions, kept the tour moving without feeling rushed, and he himself is an interesting person with a great sense of humor. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bologna. If we return in the future, I wouldn’t mind going on it again.

Darren did an absolutely fantastic job guiding us through a tour and tasting in Bologna, Italy. His expertise as a chef and his local knowledge made the experience incredibly rich and authentic. Darren’s passion for food shone through as he introduced us to the region’s best culinary gems, sharing insights into the history and preparation of each dish we tried. My personal favorite was the gelato! it was hands-down the best I’ve ever had! Darren’s ability to curate such an unforgettable food experience, blending his chef’s knowledge with his love for the area, made this tour truly exceptional. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore Bologna’s food scene!

We had a delightful food tour last night with Darren. He is a seasoned Bologna (and worldwide) chef who is just as knowledgeable about Bologna's history as he is about Bologna's food. He clearly loves both his city and his job as a tour guide. The tour was special not only for the culinary aspects but also for Darren's friendly and outgoing personality.

Darren is not only so knowledgeable about the city and its amazing sights, but also seems to know all the best secret places to taste and savor the food in Bologna.  His knowledge of the history was very important to us--we had insights into how the city grew--Many stories about the political and cultural development.  We loved learning about the extraordinary lengths the people went to create the cuisine.  Just how old a parmesan cheese needed to be to be given its best rating!  We recommend this tour to anyone who wants to really know this amazing city!
