So... Patreon. Long time lurker first time creator... I've been running Mac Source Ports since 2021. The origin story can be read here , so I won't bore you with that other than to say this whole thing started because the community donated to me so I decided to donate back. In the years since I've done some cool stuff - the site has grown to over 160 games across over 100 source ports, over 60 of which I automate using a custom build server . I have a Discord with over 500 members, I've been mentioned on Hacker News and other locations, and I've made several really neat contacts in the small but grateful retro Mac gaming community. And while this is effectively a hobby with an audience, I'd like to do more, and for that I need more resources. Right now the site has some referral links and they generate enough revenue to cover the costs of what is a pretty lean operation, but I'd like to do things like get some more hardware so when I say something can run on older Macs as well as the new ones, it'll be because I've tested it. I'd like to add some more machines to my build server arrangement to handle more esoteric versions of macOS. And I have a backlog of over a hundred source ports to look at and it'll be much easier to justify spending time on them if the site is producing revenue. And I'm new to this so I'm feeling my way around Patreon but I plan on doing things like making an exclusive Discord role for Patreons, making more frequent updates, and giving access to the raw output of the build server so if you really want to play on the latest version of some port that updates all the time I got u fam. Anyways, here goes nothing...
