SERVICES
When I tech edit your knitting pattern I will check its accuracy and readability. I will:
- Check that all the numbers add up
- Check abbreviations for consistency
- Check that charts match the written instructions
- Check schematic sizes against the written pattern
- Check that the tension/gauge and stitch count matches the sizes stated
- Check stitch counts for multiple sizes
- Check for overall clarity and consistency
EXPERIENCE
I am an experienced knitter. I test knit for numerous designers and often receive the pattern before it has been tech edited, suggesting alterations where necessary. A former Forensic Scientist, I was experienced in checking and assessing colleagues work. I have completed Joeli Kelly’s ‘Learn to Tech Edit’ course: https://www.thetecheditorhub.com/
In the future I hope to offer to create charts from written instructions using Stitchmastery software and also grading of knitting patterns.
