I originally bought the SquatSeat because I follow one of the founders on Instagram who works as a mobility coach. Mobility and preventative health have always been important to me. I come from a big family and have watched many older relatives deal with physical issues that could likely have been prevented with better movement habits, so I try to stay proactive about things like mobility and exercise.
My husband and I bought two—one for each of us. Our daily routines are very different. I work from home and sit at a desk most of the day, while my husband is a dog groomer and stands all day.
Despite exercising regularly (about 20–30 minutes, four days a week) and doing mobility work every morning, we were both still dealing with daily back pain.
After the SquatSeats arrived, we tried them for about 10 minutes the first day, and we both immediately noticed a reduction in back pain by the end of that same day.
Since then, using them has become part of our morning routine. We sit together and have coffee for about 15–45 minutes each morning, and we sit on the SquatSeats while we talk. We’ve only had them for about two weeks, but the results have honestly been surprising.
Results so far:
• My husband’s back pain is completely gone (100%)
• My lower back pain is about 80% improved
• My hip discomfort has disappeared
• My flexibility and range of motion feel better overall
I also had ACL surgery two years ago, and the recovery has been rough due to issues with the medical care at the time. The first day I used the SquatSeat, my knee was sore the next morning, but it felt like my body was being put back into a more natural alignment. Since using it consistently, my knee actually feels stronger and more stable than it has in a long time.
One thing I really like is that you don’t need a lot of time with it. Even 2–5 minutes a day can make a difference. It’s easy to move around the house too—I’ll sometimes bring it into my home office and sit on it while reading or taking notes if my back is bothering me.
Build quality:
One reason it took me a while to buy was the price point, which initially felt high. After receiving it, I understand why. The construction is solid and well made, and it feels like a product that will last for many years.
Minor downsides:
• The seat could be a little wider for people with bigger builds. I’m 6'4" and 260 lbs, and my husband is 5'11" and 190 lbs, so a bit more room would be nice.
• The two halves can separate slightly, which can be a little annoying, but it’s not a major issue.
Neither of these are dealbreakers—just small improvements that could make it even better.
Final thoughts:
This hasn’t replaced my normal mobility routine, but it’s been an excellent addition to it. The key is simply using it consistently. Because we incorporated it into an existing habit (morning coffee together), it’s effortless to stick with.
For us, the impact on pain reduction alone has made it worth it.
Overall: highly recommend.
