As some of you may have noticed, that the Chromis Logo at the top has changed. After conversations with a number of individuals, it was decided that a cleaner looking logo was required. This logo will now be used in the next release of Chromis POS. We are currently working a new version of Chromis POS, the development is being done against OpenJFX version 11. The change to use OpenJFX as a development platform, has come about due the changes in the java licence model from Oracle. Some new features include a loyalty system and gift cards, also the embedded Derby database engine will be deprecated. Chromis POS has only just started on it journey of evolution, but it originally started its life after I came across an open source pos called Unicenta, which itself was a fork of Openbravo, when looking for a Point Of Sale (POS) solution for a friend to use in his tropical fish shop.
