for a metroidvania it really shines out. The skills you get compliemnt in battles and in exploration, and the game has a great amount of platforming challenges to test your ability in using them. the world design is beautifully made, and the modifier system gives a lot of ways of changing your build to compliment in different scenarios and enhance your attack capabilities, really the only downside is the lack of varied moves you can attack with, but you still have a few options, and the boss design typically works by either dying fast or killing you fast, and there's not really any boss encounter that i would personally rate badly. well worth the time

mash vp feels a lot like a benami game in a good way, and I heavily recommend it.
Really diverse music selection that a lot of other rhythm games on pc don't have with amazing mashups that span a ton of genres.
The actual gameplay feels surprisingly novel and doesn't really play at all like a typical 4k vsrg and takes a bit of time to get used to.
The customisation in the game is surprisingly extensive, from player customisation for the ghost battle records to gameplay customisation and skins, it's quite advanced.
it can be a bit grindy to unlock some of the songs and customisation options but it's acceptable and a majority of songs aren't locked behind any time investment

a game that asks much of you but rewards you very well if you can meet its demands

overall a fun time, you don't really need to read steins gate or chaos head before getting into this, but having an understanding of them helps.
was somewhat buggy for me, softlocked (mostly from not loading a new scene) and crashed a couple of times, so had to save semi-frequently

charming. was thoroughly charmed.

nice way of looking through the history of melty blood, though the soundtrack is not in a folder you can use in other programs, so do keep that in mind you're thinking of purchasing this as a soundtrack
