I believe this game deserves a better rating than 'mixed'. It's a solid linear adventure with good voice acting and Telltale style choices.

If you're not familiar with the TV show or books I can see the lore being a little overwhelming but it does have an encyclopedia of optional info to read.

The gameplay isn't super in-depth but the story pushes everything along, its never boring. When you're not having conversations and making pivotal choices you will be having shoot outs with 3 different blaster types, some light exploring, and occasionally "hacking" doing the same type of puzzle each time.

Performance wasn't terrible. I just wish the ending wasn't a cliffhanger.

I know this is a budget title by an indie dev, but I just can't recommend this. I really wanted to like this, I love the Luigi's Mansion games, and playing a game like that in VR sounded super fun. Unfortunately there were too many things in a row that made me stop. I was using the Valve Index.

The worst thing for me was not having a seated option. Even simply resetting my position in steam VR settings while sitting didn't help. Some may not care but these days VR games have the option. So, I still gave the game a chance and played for a bit while standing. There also seemed to be a lot of issues with the HOLD grip option using Index controllers, but toggle also seemed to have issues.

The janky animations, the left hand not really grabbing the gun or anything else like door knobs correctly I could look past, but the first boss fight in the ballroom was annoying (instant fail until you figure out how to trigger second phase) and constantly respawning enemies like the pumpkins in hallways just bugged me a lot. The game apparently doesn't pause in inventory, so don't try to read journals with the infinite pumpkins in every hallway.

Just too many things added up to a sour experience for me. Wish it was better.

I believe this is one of the best Star Trek games ever made. Of course it depends on what you want out of a trek game but if you want it to have an authentic trek story, look no further.

This game feels like an epic trek episode or movie with an unknown crew, although a couple well known characters do pop up. An older TNG episode plays into the narrative in a big way.

Similar to most Telltale games in gameplay with choices and minigames throughout. It's also a bit janky with some awkward animations sometimes but once the story gets going it didn't bother me.

You do away missions, tricorder scanning, phaser shootouts, and make command decisions during space battles as well as diplomacy missions. It's very Trek.

Virtually everything has been improved from the original. The QoL features make the game a more pleasant experience. I have 100% completed the game.

The design decision to give the player all the moves right from the start didn't bother me as a returning player, but I feel it robs new players from the sense of discovery and accomplishment of unlocking new moves. Also, the dialogue and story reference the original, the whole game almost seems like it assumes everyone is a returning player.

The only major CON I had was the game would not recognize the controller after the game was running, turning it on before launching the game of course is fine, BUT if the controller turns off while the game is running (like being AFK or batteries dying), after turning the controller back on the game REFUSED to recognize it. I would have to restart the game.

I was enjoying it but the first boss is ridiculous. It either needs to be re-tuned, or there should be checkpoints. Also, I thought it was agreed that it's a gaming sin to make you watch/listen to cutscene dialogue every time you have to repeat a boss.

Got this game real cheap on sale, no complaints. It has an innovative control scheme, feels like controlling a marionette puppet or something. It's a simple platformer with progressively more challenging, but short levels. Good variety so far.

I am reluctantly giving this a thumbs up, only because when the game works it is a fun little dinosaur horror game.

Pros: Genuinely scary sometimes, there are jump scares. The sounds are really good, especially the dinosaurs. Generous checkpoints, and not too difficult.

Cons: CONTROLLER SUPPORT IS BUGGED, when using it the game would start to lag after 10 minutes or so EVERY TIME. It would become unplayable, the controller support is not true. I am using the xbox one controller with the wireless dongle. No issues at all using mouse and keyboard.

Other issues would be like the backpack being unresponsive sometimes, the dinosaurs not seeing you when they clearly should have, and generally not being able to interact with much, can't distract the dinos with anything. It's a heavily scripted game with a lot of waiting while they walk their patrol paths.

It's a decent game, but the inventory is finicky. Too easy to accidentally store something when you want it to remain in your hands. The atmosphere, and general pirate theme comes through well, especially with the talking parrot and skeletons. I have to say though, NOT getting your cutlass until the end credits is insane. There should've been sword combat with the flintlock.

Super fun in co-op, the dog Buddy is a good boy. Campaign is longer with some really cool set pieces.

Grabbing could be a little easier, at least on Index controllers, it felt like the circle icon showing you can grab something had to be incredibly precise. Be nice if you could hold 2 long weapons on each shoulder, instead of just one.

Stealth horror games requiring you to hide until you can get past are nothing new to me. This game though really elevates this mechanic to a frustrating degree. There are no checkpoints or a save anywhere option, only manual save points spaced too far apart, first mistake. The enemies can run very quickly to kill you instantly, your movement is quite slow even when you "sprint", second mistake. Also, third mistake, there's barely any hiding places. Only a few closets that allow you to hide and if you're not near one you can try to maybe duck to block line of sight, because you're certainly not going to be able to run anywhere.

After spending a good chunk of time exploring, collecting and even finding necessary story/quest items I was "killed" and was sent back to the last manual save. There were no save points in the area I was in nor did I receive a checkpoint because they don't exist. I won't keep playing a game that doesn't respect my time.
