Digital Eclipse is a leader in classic video game emulation. Starting out in 1993 with games such as Joust, Robotron and Defender, Digital Eclipse has since grown into a major provider of classic game packs for all the later generation consoles. Digital Eclipse and ImaginEngine combined to form Backbone Entertainment, which in turn merged with The Collective Inc. in 2005 to form Foundation 9 Entertainment. Currently all games produced under the Digital Eclipse brand are developed at Backbone studios, one of eight divisions of F9E.
