RomVault supports several different archive options for your ROM sets. Unlike most other ROM managers, RomVault focuses on consistency and normalizes archives. All archives that RomVault creates are deterministic. Everyone's archive for a particular set of files will be 100% hash equal if the same archive options are used.

Welcome to the RomVault Wiki

Homepage www.romvault.com

What is RomVault?

RomVault will take one or more DAT files and your set of ROM (zip) files, and clean up your files to match your DAT files. If you find more ROMs to add to your collection RomVault will scan and merge in these files, and if new DATs are released you can easily scan in these new DATs and update your ROM collections to match, all of this can be done with just a few button clicks in the UI.

A non-merged set contains absolutely everything necessary for a given game to run packaged in a single folder or archive. Every game is completely independent from any other game.

RomVault does not currently have the ability to assign multiple ROM paths to a single DAT. For example, you cannot assign and to your PlayStation 2 DAT at the same time. This may be problematic if you use multiple drives and a particular collection cannot fit on a single physical drive. However, you can use other applications to merge multiple drives or paths together so they appear consolidated and can be accessed as if it were a single drive.
