Important information regarding the change of insurance intermediary for Travel Insurance for residents of the European Union

As of September 16, 2025: The transfer of the intermediary position for your Travel or Reservation Insurance (“Travel Insurance”) policy(ies) was completed on September 16, 2025. If you did not object to this transfer, you have received a welcome email informing you that Airbnb Spain Insurance Agency, S.L.U. (“ASIASL”) is now the insurance intermediary for your policy.

The change of insurance intermediary does not affect the terms, conditions, or coverage of the Travel Insurance provided by your insurer Europ Assistance. There is no action required on your part. If your booking has already taken place, your Travel Insurance policy has ended and this change will not affect you in any way other than the update to the insurance intermediary.

As of July 16, 2025: If you are resident of the European Union, you may have purchased on the Airbnb platform for your Airbnb trip Travel or Reservation Insurance (“Travel Insurance”) underwritten by Europ Assistance S.A. Irish Branch (“Europ Assistance”).

Airbnb Ireland Insurance Limited (“AIISL”) is currently your insurance intermediary if you are an Airbnb guest resident in France who purchased Travel Insurance on the Airbnb platform for your Airbnb trip. Aon Iberia Correduría de Seguros y Reaseguros S.A.U. (“Aon”) is currently your insurance intermediary if you are an Airbnb guest resident in selected European Union countries who purchased Travel Insurance on the Airbnb platform for your Airbnb trip.

If you are an existing customer of AIISL or Aon, you received an email notification two (2) months in advance about the change of insurance intermediary. After the expiry of this two (2) month period from the date of that email notice, AIISL and Aon will transfer the management of your Travel Insurance policy to Airbnb Spain Insurance Agency, S.L.U. (“ASIASL”).

As a result of this transfer, your current insurance intermediary (AIISL or Aon, as applicable) will no longer serve in that role and ASIASL will assume the role of insurance intermediary responsible for the administration, management and maintenance of your Travel Insurance policy. This transition will not affect the terms, conditions, or coverage of your current Travel Insurance policy underwritten by Europ Assistance. The change is only related to the intermediary managing your Travel Insurance policy and ASIASL is fully equipped to provide you with the same high level of service and support you expect.

ASIASL, a non-tied insurance agency (in Spanish, Airbnb Spain Insurance Agency, S.L.U., agencia de seguros vinculada), is registered in Spain with number AJ0364 in the Administrative Registry of Insurance Distributors of the Directorate General for Insurance and Pension Funds (in Spanish, Direccion General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones).

If you object to this transfer, please notify your objection in writing within two (2) months from the date of the email with the notification of the change of insurance intermediary. You can send your objection to:

If no objection is received within this two (2) month period, you will be deemed to have consented to the transfer and as a consequence:

(a) that ASIASL will take on the role of insurance intermediary for your Travel Insurance policy as a non-exclusive tied insurance agency, replacing AIISL or Aon, as applicable;

(b) that your current insurance intermediary will notify Europ Assistance and ASIASL about the change of the role of insurance intermediary. The authorization for this communication implies that your current insurance intermediary will share with Europ Assistance and ASIASL the personal data you provided when purchasing Travel Insurance, along with the details of your Travel Insurance policy. This sharing is intended to manage the aforementioned transfer based on the legitimacy of your current insurance intermediary in complying with contractual obligations and applicable regulations. Following the transfer, Europ Assistance will continue to be the controller of your personal data related to the Travel Insurance, while ASIASL, acting as the data processor of Europ Assistance due to its role of Europ Assistance’s non-exclusive tied insurance agency, will use and store your data to provide the necessary insurance intermediary services for the Travel Insurance in accordance with the the data protection laws and its Privacy Notice.

If you object to this transfer within this two (2) month period, ASIASL will not take on the role of insurance intermediary for your Travel Insurance. Instead, your current insurance intermediary, following the expiry of two (2) months from the date of the email notification, will resign from its position as the insurance intermediary for your Travel Insurance. From that point, Europ Assistance will service your Travel Insurance policy directly and all queries and requests regarding your Travel Insurance should be directed to Europ Assistance using the contact information provided in your Travel Insurance policy.

If you are a new customer of AIISL or Aon for Travel Insurance, you will be informed about the change of insurance intermediary at the time of the Travel Insurance offer when booking your Airbnb accommodation. Purchasing Travel Insurance implies your consent to the change, as outlined in paragraphs (a) and (b) above, and no further action is required. However, if you do not wish to consent to the change of intermediary, you should not purchase the Travel Insurance policy when booking your Airbnb accommodation and consider sourcing alternative travel insurance for your trip from other providers.
