If you reside in the Republic of Korea (“Korea”), this Korea Privacy Supplement (“Supplement”) applies to you, and supplements Airbnb Privacy Policy. Airbnb is committed to processing and handling personal information securely and in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Act (“PIPA”) and relevant regulations. This Supplement has been established and publicly disclosed pursuant to Article 30 of PIPA.
In case of conflict between the Privacy Policy and this Supplement, this Supplement shall prevail for residents of Korea.
In accordance with PIPA, this Supplement supplements the Airbnb Privacy Policy and aims to help residents of Korea easily understand how Airbnb processes their personal information and how to confirm those processing details. When we refer to “Airbnb”, “we”, “us”, or “our”, it refers to Airbnb company that is responsible for your information under this Privacy Policy (“Personal Information Processor” under PIPA), as described in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Policy.
We collect and use personal information to the minimum extent necessary to provide the Airbnb Platform.
We use personal information for: i) improving and developing the Airbnb Platform, personalizing the Airbnb Platform, and protecting the Airbnb Platform and community; ii) providing, measuring, and improving performance, analyzing communications, and providing payment services; and iii) advertising and marketing (with your consent where necessary).

To promote trust, safety, and quality in the Airbnb community, we share your profile with Hosts and Guests. You may provide us with the additional profile information below.
The following information may be generated and collected when you use the Airbnb Platform and related payment services. This information may be considered personal information if it is linked to other personal information.
Location data may be determined by your IP address or mobile device GPS, depending on your device settings. When this feature is enabled through settings or device permissions, Airbnb may collect this information even when you are not using the Airbnb app.
The pages or content you view, listing searches, booking history, and other activities you perform on the Airbnb Platform.
Details about how you use the Airbnb Platform (including whether you click on links to third-party applications), IP address, access date and time, hardware and software information, device information, device event information, unique identifiers, crash data, cookie data, and pages viewed or used before or after using the Airbnb Platform.
We retain and use your personal information until your account is deleted or withdrawn. We may retain your personal information for longer if you have consented to a different retention period or if applicable laws and regulations require that we retain your information for a specified period. We delete personal information when it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected, when the user requests account deletion or withdraws the account, or when the retention period you consented to has expired.
In cases where we have a legal obligation to retain information for a certain period of time, personal information will be retained for that period.
In the following cases, personal information may be retained until the end of the relevant period.
Upon fulfillment of its purpose or expiration of the retention period, personal information is irretrievably deleted using appropriate technical or physical methods. Electronic files are deleted using technical methods to prevent recovery or reproduction, and any physical data is destroyed by shredding or incineration, if applicable.
For users residing in Korea, Airbnb Ireland UC, an established company in Ireland, collects and uses personal information related to your activities on the Airbnb Platform.

In section 4.3, if the recipient or the company receiving the personal information is a foreigner (or foreign corporation), the personal information will be transferred overseas (Article 28-8, (1), 3, (a) of PIPA).
You may refuse the offshore transfer of your personal information by contacting us as described in sections 9 and 10. If you refuse the offshore transfer of your personal information, Airbnb may exclude your personal information from the transfer. Your use of certain Airbnb services that require the offshore transfer of personal information may therefore be restricted.
In order to provide the Airbnb Platform to users residing in Korea, Airbnb may provide personal information to its affiliates or trusted companies and entrust the processing of personal information in accordance with Airbnb's guidelines, Privacy Policy, and confidentiality and security requirements.

Pursuant to Article 17, Paragraph 4 of PIPA, we may provide additional personal information to the recipient below without your consent, taking into account the following:
The recipient of the additional personal information is the Host of the Accommodation, Experience, and/or Service you have booked. You can check Host details in “Meet your Host” on the reservation screen. You may refuse the provision of your personal information, but this may impact your ability to book a Listing.
We do not provide personal information to third parties except with your consent or for the purpose for which it was collected. Personal information may be provided to third parties if we obtain a separate consent from you if we are required to submit it by law, if it is clearly deemed necessary to protect the urgent life, body, or property interests of the you or a third party, or if it is urgently necessary for public safety and well-being, such as public health (Article 18, (2) of PIPA). If necessary to protect our legitimate interests, relevant personal information may be provided to third parties. In such cases, the information provided will be limited to a reasonable scope (e.g., for dispute resolution, investigations, and litigation response).
We continually implement and modify administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information from illegal or unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration.
You may access and edit your personal information at any time through your account settings. You can delete your account and withdraw your consent to the collection and use of your personal information. You may contact us to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal information.

Your usage information, activity logs, or search history may be used to provide marketing. You can opt out of receiving personalized advertising at any time; if you block it, you will no longer see personalized advertisements. In accordance with PIPA and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, we have designated the following domestic agent. You may contact the domestic agent to address complaints related to processing of your personal information and other matters.
For inquiries relating to the processing of personal location information, the purpose of processing your location information, the retention period, our destruction procedures and methods, relevant information protection officer and contact information, our obligations, and the complaint-handling department are the same as those specified above.
To comply with Article 16, Paragraph 2 of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, we automatically record and retain data confirming the collection, use, and provision of your personal location information. This data, which serves as the basis for possession and retention, is stored for a minimum of six months.
The Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information establishes the legal basis for a guardian to exercise the rights of an “adult ward, etc.” regarding personal location information. This is permissible when the guardian consents to the collection, use, or provision of the adult ward's personal location information solely for the purpose of protecting their life or body. "Adult ward, etc." is defined as a person: i.) under guardianship, ii.) with a mental disability (as defined in Article 2, (2), 2 of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities), or iii.) with a severe disability (as defined in Article 2, (2) of the Act on Promotion of Employment of Persons with Disabilities and Vocational Rehabilitation, only if registered as disabled under Article 32 of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities). For the consent to be valid, the guardian must satisfy the statutory requirements by submitting a written consent form along with a document proving their status as the legal guardian. By meeting these conditions, the guardian is deemed to have provided the necessary consent on behalf of the subject of personal location information.
