They've got the high ground
Getting back to the sacred ground terrain piece for SAGA I decided it was good for the February painting challenge. I sidetracked myself and put this off until the last minute in a total self sabotage. Its good to see done and helps my sense of moving forward as I also have sone other stuff being finished up.
The trio of figures come from the Casting Room Miniatures line Nymphs and War Maidens set Priestess (WG527)
The statue, came from Reaper miniatures Amazon and Spartan Living Statues (SKU 44126)
The basecoat of rock was done in Vallejo Buff (70.976) and got an oil wash of Burnt Umber. I think it came out rather nicely to show the details of sculpting. Sealing it up I used gloss and matte varnish from Testors as I have plenty and my figures are the ones I prize to be ultra matte. The turf got a touch of Modpodge and sprinkling of Geek Gaming Scenics mix of Mediterranean Soil (I continue to highly recommend the stuff). I’ll go back and add some tufts when its all cured.
