We are a local charity based in Surbiton providing centre-based support to adults living in the community with mental health challenges or learning disabilities. We also provide residential and supported living for 24 adults with learning disabilities in our purpose built homes in Chessington.

Story

Man Shed

Suicide is the most common cause of death for men under 49 years in England and Wales and men are three times as likely to commit suicide as women. We created Man Shed to provide a space for men to enjoy a friendly, safe environment, supporting good mental health by sharing skills and knowledge with others. We have a waiting list and it's growing! Extra funds will help us to extend our offering.

Mindfulness Support Groups

So many people struggled with loneliness and isolation during the pandemic. Our Mindfulness Support Group helps to provide a space for people still struggling with the effects of the pandemic.

Ukrainian refugees

We want to offer support to some of the many Ukrainian people, who, through no fault of their own, have lost their homes and their livelihoods. We're offering Coffee & Chat Meet-ups for Ukrainian refugees, with an interpreter, in a safe space to support those going through crisis.

Outcome

All projects at The Fircroft Trust aim to give people support, confidence, skills and experience needed to live well, and should they seek it, to either become volunteers themselves or find paid employment elsewhere.
