On most Thursdays, Janet Anderson (follow on Bluesky) and Stephanie van den Berg (follow on Bluesky) discuss all things international justice with (mostly) women experts in the field. Wondering about the name? Two female journalists, both obsessed with mechanisms for post-conflict accountability plus one haircut; obviously our next move was to start a podcast to talk about justice for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, with women experts and commentators, because they aren’t always first in our mental rolodexes as commentators. But they should be. We started back in 2019, and the podcast has been evolving since then. Now, to make the work of our producer Margherita Capacci sustainable and to avoid the interruption of adverts, we’re embarking on this Patreon adventure. We already get a small subsidy from JusticeInfo.net which helps pay for some of our expenses, and via our memberships of The Hague Humanity Hub, we get a free space to record. Sometimes, we do a paid collaboration with an organisation to get access and do a podcast that contributes to debates on important issues. Via Patreon we want to raise about 6,000 a year, which would pay for the podcast hosting, some of Margherita’s time, and leave a bit over to have regular events with our community. This plan is all the more exciting because it gives us the chance to have a regular (war criminals) book club with several friends of the pod and to occasionally bring you behind the scenes of our work as journalists following international justice. We thank in advance anyone who is willing and able to support. And to everyone supporting or not, thank you for listening.
