Objective:
I am seeking a full/part-time opportunity at a television news station. I am currently attending
Northern Michigan University and working towards a major in Multimedia Journalism, with a
minor in Health and Nutrition, and set to graduate in the fall of 2016.
I am striving to one day work as a multimedia journalist and/or news anchor and find this career
as being valuable to myself and the community to provide insight as to what is occurring in a
local setting and global atmosphere. My passion is to provide professional insight to people, as I
believe it is imperative to make news known to the people that deserve information in regards to
what is going on in the world around them. Educating the public is very important to me.
News is something Ive grown to love and value ever since childhood. It excites to me to know
that I am helping to aid in viewer awareness and appreciation for the news as an entity.
About me:
I am a dependable, dedicated, and driven individual who is capable of taking direction to
accomplish tasks as well as being a motivated self-starter. I am always willing to do more than is
expected to make for a quality production and lead in a setting that requires teamwork and
fluidity in the process of circulating news. I have the ability to work as team player and
independently, while tackling tasks without assistance or supervision. I am very outgoing,
approachable, and respectful, and will not shy away from engaging with co-workers or the
general public. I am always up for a challenge, and have a solution-based outlook on any issue.
Skills:
I have been involved with NMUs WNMU Public TV 13 for the past two years and
producer/director of Public Eye News for the 2015-2016 school year. Ive contributed to several
live sporting events and network shows. I am capable of writing for broadcast and print, both
hard-news and feature stories. I have skills in technical and floor directing, graphics, audio, and
cameras.
In high school I discovered my love for being on camera, and have developed a professional
screen presence into college within our show at Public Eye News.
I have been an employee at my familys construction business, Urbans Partition and Remodeling
since a teenager, and have developed an ambition for hard work, teamwork, and quality as a
skilled laborer.
