Project Topic - Crude Oil Research
SYNOPSIS This project deals with the fundamental analysis of crude oil and the factors which influence the prices of crude oil. A detailed analysis of the factors influencing demand, supply, inventories, and effect of weather, geo-political tensions and market speculation influencing the prices of crude oil will be carried out. The prices of crude oil have a significant impact on different industries in the world. The positive and negative impact of volatility in prices on different industries is proposed to be analyzed. History of crude oil prices will also be accounted for and will be analyzed to understand the movement of prices over the years. Energy policies, OPEC decisions, Wars and the rising demand of oil in developing countries have had long lasting effects on the price of crude oil. The indirect effect of rise in prices of crude oil is also significant and its relation with stock markets will be covered. Key technologies which can enhance the supply of oil have an important place and will be studied. They include Enhanced Oil Recovery, Deepwater and Ultra-Deepwater Drilling, Oil Sands, Heavy and Extra-Heavy Oils and Oil Shale. The search for alternate sources of energy in transportation sector has never been so profound. Ethanol, Biodiesel, Coal and Biomass Gas-to-Liquids, Natural Gas, Advanced Vehicle Technologies and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles are some of the alternate sources of energy trying to displace the place of oil in the transportation sector. The study of these alternatives and their analysis would bring out some interesting learning. Further latest event that have bearing on prices of crude oil and the possible outcomes may also be discussed that might impact recovery of nations around the world.
