23. The rod AC of a TV disc antenna is fixed at right angles to the wall AB and a rod CD is supporting the disc

24. If one zero of a polynomial 3𝑥2 − 8𝑥 + 2𝑘 + 1 is seven times the other, find the value of 𝑘.

a cliff is 600 and the angle of depression of the base of the cliff is 300 .Find the distance of the cliff from

Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each

32. Prove that if a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other two sides in distinct points,
the other two sides are divided in the same [Link] in ΔPQR, prove that a line ℓ intersects the sides PQ
and PR of a ∆PQR at L and M respectively such that LM II QR. If PL = 5.7cm, PQ=15.2cm and MR=5.5cm,
then find the length of PM (in cm)

33. If three times the greater of two numbers is divided by the smaller one ,we get 4 as the quotient and 3 as the
remainder .Also if seven times the smaller number is divided by greater one ,we get 5 as the quotient and 1
as the remainder .Find the numbers.

34. A building is in the form of a cylinder surmounted by a hemispherical dome. The base diameter of the dome

36. In the month of April to June 2022, the exports of passenger cars from India increased by 26% in the
corresponding quarter of 2021–22, as per a report. A car manufacturing company planned to produce
1800 cars in 4th year and 2600 cars in 8th year. Assuming that the production increases uniformly
by a fixed number every year.

Based on the above information answer the following questions.


(i) Find the production in the 1st year. (1)
(ii) Find the production in the 12th year. (1)
(iii) Find the total production in first 10 years. (2)

In how many years will the total production reach 31200 cars? (2)

37. Trigonometry in the form of triangulation forms the basis of navigation, whether it is by land, sea or air.
GPS a radio navigation system helps to locate our position on earth with the help of satellites.
A guard, stationed at the top of a 240m tower, observed an unidentified boat coming towards it. A clinometer
or inclinometer is an instrument used for measuring angles or slopes(tilt). The guard used the clinometer to
measure the angle of depression of the boat coming towards the lighthouse and found it to be 300.

ii) Calculate the distance of the boat from the foot of the observation tower. (1)
iii) After 10 minutes, the guard observed that the boat was approaching the tower
and its distance from tower is reduced by m. He immediately raised the alarm.
What was the new angle of depression of the boat from the top of the observation

38. The discus throw is an event in which an athlete attempts to throw a discus. The athlete anti - clockwise
around one and a half times through a circle, then releases the throw. When released, the discus travels along
tangent to the circular spin orbit.

In the given figure, AB is one such tangent to a circle of radius 75 cm. Point O is centre of circle
and ∠ABO = 30°, PQ is parallel to OA.
