AI-POWERED DIAGNOSIS AND DISEASE

PREDICTION SYSTEM
Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI), especially machine learning and deep learning, is quickly changing
healthcare by improving how correctly and how fast diseases can be found and predicted. These
systems study large and complex medical data such as patient records, images, and genetic
information to find patterns that doctors may not easily see. AI helps in early disease detection
and gives better and more personal treatment plans. It also improves accuracy, reduces work for
doctors, and lowers hospital costs. But there are problems like poor data quality, unfair results,
lack of clarity in how AI works, and issues with privacy and safety of patient data. For AI to be
used safely in hospitals, strong rules and more research are needed.

1. INTRODUCTION

AI is improving healthcare by making disease diagnosis more correct and efficient. Machine
learning, a part of AI, uses smart computer programs to study huge amounts of medical data such
as records and medical images. It finds patterns that humans may not notice. AI helps doctors
prevent diseases early and give personal treatment to each patient. This paper talks about the
progress, methods, results, and important points about using AI for disease diagnosis and
prediction.

2. LITERATURE REVIEW

Many studies show that AI plays a big role in healthcare. It helps diagnose diseases and create
personal treatment plans. AI checks data like MRI scans, ultrasounds, and genetics to find
diseases. Researchers have tested different AI methods like Machine Learning and Deep
Learning for heart disease, kidney disease, brain problems, and more. New AI models are
improving fast and can work with less data while still giving good results.

3. METHODOLOGY

AI systems are built in steps:

✔ Data Collection — Medical data from hospitals, images, and genetics

✔ Data Cleaning — Fixing missing or wrong information
✔ Model Building — Using ML algorithms like decision trees and neural networks
✔ Testing & Checking — Measuring accuracy and ensuring the model does not make many
errors
✔ Explainable AI — Helping doctors understand how AI makes decisions

These steps help AI give better and more trusted results.

4. RESULT

AI systems show very good performance in disease diagnosis. Some studies report accuracy up
to 98%. AI helps detect diseases early and provides quick information to doctors, which helps in
faster treatment. In some medical tests, AI performs almost as well as doctors, but sometimes
doctors still perform better than AI experts.

5. DISCUSSION

Benefits of AI

 More correct and faster diagnosis

 Helps doctors make better decisions
 Saves time by doing routine work

Challenges

 Data may be incomplete or not good enough

 Some AI systems are not clear in how they decide (black box)
 Privacy and security issues of patient data
 Hard to use AI tools in all hospitals

Conclusion

AI is changing healthcare by helping in early diagnosis and giving personal treatment. It

improves doctor work and patient health. But to use AI everywhere, we must fix issues like data
errors, unfair results, and privacy risks. With strong rules and research, AI can greatly support
global healthcare.
