ASSIGNMENT I

SPORT UP YOUR LIFE!

Last semester the biggest sport event was held at President University, named Sport Olympiad President University or abbreviated as SOPU. The chairman of SOPU, Feriko commenced the event through symbolic fire torch ignition on May 23 2011. This is an annual even in President University and also the biggest even held in President University. Everyone could hear the shout of participants echoed around President Universitys main campus area during the event. said a student during that event. This event was held at campus and dormitory sport facilities and sport facilities around that area. SOPU participants consist of all students from all major and faculties from 3 batches, 2008, 2009 and 2010. This sport event has led all students to plan better strategies to the sports competitions. Feriko said, SOPU consist of various sports competition and also the cheerleading contest. He also said that the theme of that event was Sport up Your Life! Throughout the even there was several entertaining performance such as students band performance, break-dance brought by Bekasi Break-dance Club and by the end of SOPU there was performance from Cherrybelle. At the end of the event the spokesperson of committee said The committee would like to apologize for any mistakes made during the event. Additionally, we would like to convey that although the fire torch had been put out, the spirit of SOPU 2011 will always shine in our heart forever. SPORT UP YOUR LIFE! See you at SOPU 2012.

ASSIGNMENT II

SBY at President University: Indonesia is an economy on the rise!

On October 20, 2011 President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono or sometimes called SBY visited President University. The President had meetings with the Rector, Deans of faculties and Students, at that occasion he gave a general lecture in the auditorium. President SBY said Indonesia is an economy on the rise. Then he continues With a wealth of natural resources, Indonesia has become an increasingly attractive investment market. That coupled with growing middle class, high literacy rates and an improving debt rating. Throughout the meeting President also talked about the role of KPK, judicial mafia, and law of enforcement. Beside those two topics he said that he will support the development of President University to be a world-class university by supplying tools and equipments for President Universitys laboratories. The security arrangement for SBY during the meeting was very tight. There was a rumor that workers from some factories around Jababeka going to organize mass protest demanding higher salaries, welfare benefits and health insurances for their families said a presidential guard member.
