PLC-Based Automatic Feed System Project

This document contains a nomination form for a final year project from Bahria University in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The project aims to develop an automated feed system using a PLC, sensors and an HMI to control the feeding of two solid materials according to a desired ratio while monitoring temperature and material levels. The project is estimated to cost 90,000 rupees and would benefit process industries by helping to ensure quality control of products through accurate material feeding ratios.

PLC BASED AUTOMATIC FEED SYSTEM VIA HMI

January 3, 2013 May, 2013

To make a system in which we can measure and control the feed of the two different solid (crushed form) materials according to the desired ratio. Monitoring the temperature and level of the material in the hopper (storage area) before feeding. To sense & feed the different proportion of different raw materials to the any plant. Also using HMI to set the proportion of feed. Load sensors which sense the weight of the raw material in the main hoper. Temperature will be measured before the material moves on under the uncertain conditions feed will be stopped.

E. Project Objectives:

To sense & feed the different proportion of different raw materials to the any plant. Also using HMI to set the proportion of feed. Load sensors which sense the weight of the raw material in the main hoper. Temperature will be measured before the material moves on under the uncertain conditions feed will be stopped

F. Project Implementation Method

The project is based on PLC once we acquire PLC we implement all the sensor and logics to get all the required output. Well be using the HMI compatible to our PLC to monitor the temperature and level of storage. And also set the desired rate of feed. When temperature and level is undesirable than this automatic system should stop the feed to the main hopper.
