Technology has rapidly evolved in the last few years.
Computers are, in my opinion, an alternative to the
human brain. In the near future everything will be technical, everything will be done through
technology.
Firstly, studies are made in order to introduce human cells in computers. The studies show that in a not
so distant future, computers will have human thinking and electronic body. Being a medical student, I
think this could make a good change in the world. Computers with a higher intelligence than people will
be able to solve the mysteries of diseases that are currently untreatable, will be able to act more quickly
in times of pressure, and will be able to make decisions without being emotionally involved to patients.
Maybe I have too many SF ideas but I believe that sometime in the future, computers and robots will be
those that will improve our lives.
Secondly, the introduction of human cells in computers is not a good idea from a religious perspective.
God is the one who gives life, but in my opinion God allows us to evolve, to discover new things and to
learn new things. I'm not sure that a computer could develop an intelligence greater than a person.
Turing test is about that. It says that: I propose to consider the question, "Can machines think?" He is
trying to see if a computer can have human intelligence. Turing test is an experiment in artificial
intelligence that seeks to answer the difficult question Can (or will be) machines think?. It was
designed by mathematician and computer scientist Alan Turing British in 1950. Basically it is just
calculating machines that can be programmed to behave more or less like humans, in that accepts
questions formulated in natural language (not programming) and give answers more or less reasonable.
Thirdly, I think that any attempt to build computers who develops human intelligence must be based on
biology. Why? Because, for each connection from the computer, each program from the computer is
based on a series of steps to follow, some specific instructions, small things interconnected. This is like
the neurons in the human brain. Information is stored in neuronal synapses, if the synapse does not
work, the information is lost, so that a degeneration of synapses and neurons leads to Parkinson's
disease. In this way is build computers, if one parts of it does not work, then the whole system will be
affected. Ray Kurzweil says that biology is a process similar to the software and that in time we could
program almost everything about our health and will be able to send small flotilla of nano-robots to
solve any problem of body immunity. The opinions belong to Ray Kurzweil, the famous and controversial
futurist, inventor, entrepreneur and author of popular books like "The Singularity is near" or "How to
create a mind. He believes that robots and computers will understand our language, will learn from our
experience and will surpass our intelligence until 2029.
All in all, computers are guiding our lives day by day. The singularity is a highly debated topic lately. In
my opinion, somewhere in the future people will differentiate by computer just by heart (soul).
Imagination and our thoughts will be processed by computers, well work through the power of the
mind to computers and maybe sometimes well forget to be human again. Singularity is a very good
project, but any project have his dark sides.
