The Kite Runner, the first Novel by Khaled Hosseini. The Kite Runner is a
story full of power about brotherhood, Love, Betrayal, and pain. This Novel is
able to make the reader become angry, sometimes sad, poignant, or even
impressed by Amir’s attitude as a child. Journey of like Amir in tell as bitter,
sweet, and acid. In the novel of a 12 years old, Amir who likes to read and obsess
over fairy tales.

The Main character are Amir, Baba (Amir’s father), Hassan (Relatives or
friends), Sohrab (child Hassan), and Soraya, (wife of Amir). The first conflict
started from a kite festival in Afghanistan and then at the end of the story with
the story of a kite. And the first conflict that happened are betrayal, ethnic
conflict, war Afghanistan, Lie, and coward.

2. The character Hassan: Loyal, courageous, religious, well, and love the
Amir.

Setting of the story in Kabul 1975, America (San Francisco), Pakistan,


year 2001. The Kite Runner is longing for a kite (Afghanistan). The setting is in
Afghanistan that is full of conflict and war, this story goes through a long period
of Afghanistan because the story begins at a fairly peaceful time. When
Afghanistan is still in the form of Monarchy, then into the republic continued by
the Taliban until it ends in the Taliban.
Amir champion in kite playing, while Hassan hero in hunting a broken
kite. And finally Amir turns into a brave and without daring death to take the
Sohrab (child of Hassan) because of his bad attitude and Hassan’s conflict make
amends. Amir trying to take Sohrab from the hands of Assef (the ruthless leader
of the Taliban). The end of the story told how the struggle of Amir and Soraya
(his wife) to nurture of the child Hassan and the most touching moment when
Baba ( Amir’s father) marrying Amir with Soraya and ending the story Amir
returns to the path of his God.
