EP 1928 PU Adhesive Sealant Data Sheet

EP 1928 PU adhesive sealant is a one-part polyurethane sealant that is white, moisture-curing, and elastic. It has good stability and bonds well to various substrates. It can be used for making durable elastic seals and is resistant to aging, exposure, and many chemicals. The sealant cures through reaction with atmospheric moisture and its curing rate depends on temperature and humidity conditions. It is supplied in cartridges or sausages and is applied using a caulking gun.

Description:-

EP 1928 Pt is a high-quality rnulti-purpose non-sag one-pafi polyurethane sealanr that cures on

exposure to atlnospheric io forrn a durable elastomer. EP 1928 pU is manufactured in accordance
with tSO 900 1 and TJKAS quality assurance system.

Product benefits:-

- One component formulation

- Elastic
- Low odour
- Resistant to agein-s and exposure
- \on-corro:ir e
- Can be or er-painted
- Can be sandecl
- Ilond uell ro a rr ide rariett ol5uhslrales

Areas of application:-

EP 1928 Pt'bond rvell to a rvide variety of substrates and is suitable fbr makinq permanent elastic
seals of high adhesive strengtlt. Suitable substrates materials include timber, rretals. tnetal printers
and paint coatings (tu'o-component systems), ceramic materials and plastic. Seek manufacturer's
advice before using on transparent and pigmented rnaterials that are prone to stress cracking.

I
Chemical resistant:-

EP I928 Plr is resistant to fresh water, seawater, limewater, sewaqe ett]uent. diiuted acids and
caustic solutions; temporarily resistant to fuels, mineral oils, vegetable and anintal fats and oils:
not resistant to organic acids, alcohol. concentrated mineral acids and caustic solutions or paint
thinners. The above inforrnation is olfered lor general guidance onl1. Advice on specific
applications ivill be given on request.

As a rule. thc sr-rbstrates must be prepared in accordance with the instructions given in the
current 1762 Primer Char1.

Application:-
For cartridges : pierce the cartridge membrane and peel back cornpletely.
Eor unipack :place in the application gun and snip off the closure clip.
Cut off the tip of the nozzle to suit .joint rvidth and gun the sealant into the joint with a
suitable hand-operated or compressed-air gun. taking care to avoid air entrapment. Once
opened, packs should be used within a relatively short space of time. Do not appl1, at
temperature belorv -{oC or above 35"C. The optinlum telnperature fbr substrates and
sealant is between l5"C and 25"C.
For tooling and finishing: Tooline and flnishins must be carried out within the tack-1lee
time of the sealant. We recommend the use ol EC Tooling Agent. Other f'inishirlg agents
or lubricants must be tesied for suitabilitl, i compatibility.
Over-painting : EP 1928 PL can be over-painted when tack-free. The paint rnust be tested
fbr conrpatibiiitl'by carrying out preliminary'trials. Baked enarnels should not be applied
to EP 1928 PL until the sealant has attained full cure. It should be understood that the
hardness arrd fllrn thickness of the paint rral, impair the elasticitl, olthe sealant and lead
to crack in.
