story and a real picture of a

it? why do you think the
caterpillar is hungry?)

pause on the parts where the
caterpillar eats the fruits and ask one
student to tell you what colour is it?
and count how many fruits the
caterpillar eat this time? Then ask
him to write the number on the
board next to the day name.
Explain the word cocoon in a simple
meaning so they can relate and
show them a real picture of it
Ask them before the caterpillar turn
into a butterfly (what do you think
this caterpillar will be after sleeping
two weeks in the cocoon?)
After finishing the story ask them if
they like it or not and why? And if
they enjoyed it.
Before you send the students to
their group tables, show them the
PDF copy on the projector of the
worksheet they have to do by doing
the first question. explain to them
that they have to write the date and
the name first.
Differentiation activities (Support)
For high level students: students will write about the story events using “beginning-
middle-end” chart.
For mid- level students: students will cut and glue the story events where they belong.
For low level students: students will cut and glue the caterpillar life cycle pictures into
the correct number.
