Select
What standards or LOs were being addressed in the lesson?
How did you cater for learners with special needs, and for differentiation?
How did you use positive reinforcement? Methods? For what?
How did you sequence or scaffold activities so that they built gradually towards the learning objectives?
The learning outcomes are:
What is Solar System
How many planets on the Solar System
What planet we live in
What planet did the UAE's Hope orbiter land on
There are no special needs in this class. The differentiation strategy is use was
for homework. I also differentiation in my questioning so I ask him questions
based on their level. I also differentiation them in the handwriting activity.
I always used oral positive reinforcement with my students to encourage them
keep working and be confident to participate in the lesson as well as using
stars and points on Nearpod when they finish their work.
To scaffold my activities, I like to start my lesson with a video then discuss
the video with my students ask them questions then listen to them if they have
any question about the video or if they have any discussion to said after that I
start explaining the next activity for them then after they finished the activity
with have a discussion and I give them point when they finished the activity
and so on till we finish the lesson and start with time to climb.
Overall aim and context of the lesson (that is, describe the lesson’s place in the unit of work. What did
students need to know before today’s LOs were addressed? What topic comes next and how did today’s
lesson prepare students for that?)
Describe
On Monday March 8, 2021, 10:00 to 10:30 AM I start my Science lesson with
2/5. The lesson was about the Solar System. I present my lesson using
Microsoft teams and Nearpod.
I taught grade 2/5 students online using Microsoft team. I used Nearpod to
present my lesson and this is my third time using Nearpod. My personal goal
was to make sure I manage my learning time (time management) and like my
previous lesson I was in hurry. For this lesson I make sure to manage my time
for each section and I think I did well this time the students were participating
with me and following up. I really liked the student participation and seeing
them following with me and answering the tasks in Nearpod.
Analyze
Since it’s not the first time I used near pod with them I think they are more
known how to use it which helps me to manage my time also the students
were responding well with me by answering the questions and finish their
tasks on time also I was happy that they were practicing and share their
thoughts and ideas with me when I ask them questions. I think they did very
well on their prior understanding because at the beginning of my lesson I
review with them and they did very good job at answering the questions.
To engage the students, I try to find new interesting activities I think they
would like and ask questions during the lesson sections instead of having the
whole lesson only based on activities and quizzes. Also, good feedback and
reinforcement encourage the students to answer and participate more.
Appraise
From my point of view, I think the idea of using Nearpod is a successful and a
good way to catch the student’s participation and I think the students like it. I
like using it because it is interesting and fun but also, I can’t teach a whole
lesson with the many different activities and assessing.
This time I think my lesson rips my teaching goals and I’m so happy for that.
This makes me do my best all the time and to find ways to teach the students
in fun ways. I use Nearpod game Time To Clime to assess the students at the
end of the lesson.
Transform
This lesson was my best lesson I was really happy and satisfied getting a good
feedback from both of my MCT and an MST made me so much happy and
proud of myself also seeing the students having fun and learn something new
is very important to me. This push me to do my best all the time and look for
what is good for my student in the future.
